My wife and I had a very nice lunch at Barrel House Tavern, located right on Bridgeway in Sausalito. It was very busy during our visit, so reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant has spectacular views across the Bay toward the San Francisco skyline, and the setting alone makes this a great spot to linger over a meal. Our corner window was absolutely wonderful for the views.

We shared a bottle of Alexander Valley Cabernet and started with the Chef’s Wood Fire Flatbread, topped with anchovies, Kalamata olives, red onions, fresh basil, mozzarella, garlic oil, and a tomato sauce base. Prosciutto was available as an add-on, but we opted to have it without. The flatbread was very tasty and beautifully presented.

We also ordered the Burrata from the special menu. Our waitress mentioned that it didn’t come with toast points, so we ordered a side of garlic bread to go with it. There was a small mix-up, however, and we received the Burrata Tartine instead, which came on sourdough with grilled peaches, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. By that point, between the flatbread, garlic bread, and sourdough under the burrata, we had considerably more bread than we’d planned! Our waitress kindly offered to correct the order, but we declined since everything still looked and tasted great.

We finished with the beignets, dusted with powdered sugar and filled with hazelnut cream—a delicious way to end the meal.

Overall, the food was very tasty, the presentations were excellent, and the views toward San Francisco were especially memorable. Despite the minor mix-up with the burrata, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and would happily return.

Was headed back to SF from Muir Woods and stopped here for dinner. I got a spot in the bar railing that runs along the patio overlooking Angel Island, the Bay, and San Fransisco. I lucked out with the weather and had beautiful views and even got to watch the evening fog roll in. I have a 4 on service because the restaurant had one server assigned to the whole patio, which filled up completely while I was there. I think his name was Christian, he did a great job managing it all, but shouldn’t have had that many tables/ groups to take care of at once. Otherwise the food and cocktails were great, I had the chef’s special halibut and it was a delightful dish. There’s a large indoor dining room as well, and it’s located on a neat strip of town with shops, restaurants, ice cream, etc. Overall, really glad I got to chance to have a meal here while in SF for one day.
