After my visit earlier this year (2026) I was shocked to see a $600 additional charge which was not related to any actual service they provided. I was not told about this while I was in their office and only found out about after I received my bill. I was told that the charge was added only because this doctor was designated as my ‘primary care provider’. I only set up this appointment because my doctor there had left that practice and this was just supposed to be an ‘introductory visit’, and no special services were provided during this visit. I was not able to get them to drop that $600 charge even after they consulted with the doctor nor after my direct contact with the insurer, which did not cover this added charge because there was not any actual service associated with it. A purely Sutter-driven charge. Huge and very costly scam!

Had a good new patient appointment with Dr. Wallace but the good times ended there. Dr. Wallace prescribed a medication that is necessary in assisting a medical condition I had, but when insurance initially denied it due to her prescribing too low a dosage, I was unable to get any follow up help on appealing or prescribing at the correct dosage. Multiple follow ups went unanswered, and in over three weeks no resolution was made. Ultimately had to go back to my original PCP, who is in a different part of the state, and was able to get the prescription including pre-authorization within two days. Whether this is an issue with Dr. Wallace, her office, or a centralized Sutter insurance team, this was unacceptable. I cancelled all future appointments.
