Visited XICA (pronounced CHICA) on 25 July at 11:30 AM with a group of four adults and two children. We were seated indoors, and the restaurant offered ample seating with a pleasant ambience.
We ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes. The highlights were the Guacamole with plantain chips, the Organic Veggie Mexican Bowl, and the fresh corn ribs, all of which were excellent. The Epazote Poblano Quesadilla was average. Overall, the food quality was good, though the pricing felt high relative to the portions and experience.
The bill included a mandatory San Francisco Health Care surcharge, in addition to taxes and an 18% tip. As visitors, this surcharge was unexpected, and its relevance to the dining experience is unclear.
In summary, good food and ambience, but value for money is reduced by high pricing and mandatory surcharges.

Coming here on cinco de mayo was probably not a great idea since there was a prefix menu and we didn’t get to try everything. We got two types of tacos, an enchiladas and rice and beans. The rice was terrible but the beans were delicious. I didn’t try the enchiladas either. I don’t eat cheese. The two tacos were great though!

Xica is a wonderful Mexican fusion restaurant located at Levi Plaza. The restaurant is very spacious, clean and elegant, the also have outside seating. The food is excellent! I’ve been there on multiple occasions, I’ve had the chicken wings, aguachile mixto and the fish tacos as examples and they were all great! They also have a superb list of drinks like the Dirty Horchata, Expresso Martini and A Michelada made with Chamoy, a Mexican fruity tasting condiment. But where they excel is the excellent service. The wait staff is very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They also do private parties and Alcohol tastings. I highly recommend Xica!

Food is good. Menu items can be customized to meatless options Vegetarian enchiladas were good. Loved their thin plantain chips. Menu is all gluten free. Beautiful decor, wonderful service and great location are plus.

Had a fantastic dinner at XICA in San Francisco. The food was incredibly delicate and full of flavor—each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully balanced. The cocktails were just as impressive and paired perfectly with the meal.

What made the experience even better was the warm, attentive service. It’s inspiring to see a talented woman leading the kitchen as chef and owner, and her passion clearly shows in every detail.

I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for refined Mexican cuisine and great drinks in SF.
