For the most part everything was great. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, the sheets were clean, front office was sweet, and shower pressure good.
The only complaint was the shower because the water took forever to go down so it creates a pool up to your ankles.

Absolutely garbage. I genuinely don’t understand how this place qualifies as a hotel.

The problems started the second I walked into the lobby. There was a horrible stench throughout the entrance that immediately made me question why I had booked this place. The property looked dirty, poorly maintained, and run-down.

Then the elevator. I actually got stuck inside the elevator for about 5 minutes. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the condition of this property.

The room was just as bad. There were ants and other bugs crawling around, which is completely unacceptable. I shouldn’t have to worry about insects crawling around my room after paying to stay at a hotel.

It also looks like they cut every possible corner during the renovations. It feels like they took an old motel, slapped some cheap renovations on it, and decided to call it a hotel. The entire property has a cheap, run-down motel feel.

I booked two nights and ended up checking out early because I couldn’t tolerate staying there any longer. And despite the fact that I left early because of the condition of the property, there was no refund, partial refund, or any meaningful compensation offered.

For the price they charge, this place is an absolute joke. Bad smell, bugs, broken elevator, poor maintenance, cheap-looking renovations, and terrible overall experience.

Save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere else. I would never stay here again.

    PARKING WAS $20 A DAY-
Our stay at this hotel was absolutely unacceptable. We paid over $763 for what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, only to be charged an additional $100 just to park in their parking lot. For the amount of money we spent, the condition of the hotel and the overall experience were completely unacceptable.

The entire property had a horrible odor, especially the parking lot. The smell was so bad that it was noticeable every time we arrived or left the hotel. On top of that, there was constant yelling, shouting, and loud activity coming from the parking lot throughout the day and well into the night, making it extremely difficult to feel comfortable or get any peace.

Our room was filthy and had visible mold. Our sheets were “replaced” with dirty ones twice! The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable. The housekeeping situation was also one of the biggest problems. Housekeepers started working and making loud noises as early as 7:00 AM every morning, so we were never able to sleep past 7 AM during our entire stay. Meanwhile, housekeeping continued until nearly 9:00 PM, and there were days when our room wasn’t cleaned and we didn’t receive fresh towels until after dinner. That is completely unacceptable at a hotel charging this much.

The front desk experience was just as frustrating. Staff appeared to be unfamiliar with the hotel’s own policies and gave us incorrect information on three separate occasions. We repeatedly had to ask questions and address issues that should have been handled by knowledgeable hotel staff.

We did complain to the front desk during our stay, only to essentially be told afterward that we hadn’t complained enough to qualify for any sort of refund or compensation. That response was incredibly frustrating. Guests should not have to complain throughout their vacation just to have legitimate issues acknowledged.

We paid a significant amount of money for this stay and received an absolutely horrible experience in return. Between the additional parking charge, filthy and moldy room, unbearable odors, constant yelling from the parking lot, extremely disruptive housekeeping schedule, uncomfortable bed, and misinformation from the front desk, there was very little about this stay that was acceptable.

We will never stay here again. I strongly recommend management and Wyndham take these complaints seriously. We expect someone from Wyndham to review what happened and make this right.

This is not a typical Wyndom hotel its more like a motel.
The negatives: The rooms had a musty smell. None of the vending machines in the whole premises worked. They offered coffee but didnt have sugar. The refused to restock the towels in the pool area and gave us attitude when we went to the office to ask for towels. The trashes in the rooms had no garbage bags. They only clean your room every other day we couldn’t even set our trash outside to be picked up on the day our room was not cleaned. The staff and housekeepers were all rude.
The postives: The beds and pillows we’re comfortable and the curtains blacked out the room, so we all slept good. There is a gas station that has lots of snacks and drinks for 89 cents about a block away. There is lots of places to eat around. There is a Ross and Marshals and other little shops all with in walking distance.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Wyndham Garden San Diego Near SeaWorld was extremely disappointing.

I accidentally booked the wrong Wyndham location through a third-party booking site. Within minutes of making the reservation, I contacted the hotel directly to explain the mistake and request assistance. I also sent three separate messages to the hotel and never received a response.

The third-party booking company attempted to work with the hotel to obtain a refund, but they were informed that the hotel manager declined to assist and refused the refund request.

Over the course of a week, I called the hotel four different times, left messages, and requested a callback. Each time I was told that Justin was the only person who could help me. Unfortunately, I was never able to reach him. I was told he does not regularly check his messages, his voicemail box is full, and no one else seemed able or willing to assist.

What is most frustrating is not even the denied refund—it’s the complete lack of communication and customer service. Multiple calls, multiple messages, and not a single response from management.

If guest service matters to you, I would recommend looking at the many other hotels in the area that value communication and customer care. This experience turned what should have been a simple mistake into an unnecessary headache.
