This place is fantastic. I was having some issues due to years of neglecting my oral health for too long and I tried this place. They got me in same day and did some tests and a full exam and I went in for my first session of wisdom teeth extraction today.

I communicated my dental anxiety and I was very impressed with this place. They made sure I was comfortable and understood everything and were very transparent and upfront about cost. Outstanding experience, well done.

Dr. Jae is very skilled, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Had to have two fillings and very happy with the results. Staff submitted to my out of network insurance so the reimbursement process was quick and seamless.

Dr. Kerr was a superlative dentist. When he retired, Dr. Adrian bought his practice. My experience with Dr. Adrian has been extremely disappointing. He refused to adjust a crown that I had just had made by Dr. Kerr. He argued with me when I told him that I was sensitive to titanium implants, but had no problem with my four Zirconium implants. He didn’t believe me, and rather rudely asked “well, you wear metal earrings, don’t you?” I had no idea why this new dentist didn’t want to hear about my previous experiences and seemed to dislike me so intensely. The office manager said that he refused to adjust the crown because of liability issues, but the other dentist who is employed in the office – Dr. Jay – did so (and did a great job) – so why wasn’t it a liability issue for him? I saw Dr. Jay for several years. He is a diligent, skilled, kind, and respectful dentist, and the hygienists have been good. That is why I have given this review two stars instead of one.

Recently, I was scheduled to see Dr, Adrian again regarding a adjustment to a night guard that Dr. Kerr had made for me. Dr Adrian refused to adjust the night guard. I had a very recent x-ray which revealed no problem with the tooth that seemed to bother me only when I wore the night guard but Dr. Adrian said he didn’t think the problem was the night guard. When I asked what he thought might be causing the problem, all he said was “it’s complicated.” He offered me no further solutions. I reiterated my request that he try to adjust the mouthguard and said that I would not hold him responsible if something happened to it, but he refused, with no explanation. It seemed clear that he didn’t want to try and help me. I come in three times a year for cleanings, and Dr. Jay had made several crowns for me, which were successful.

I have since transferred to a new dentist in Ukiah. When this dentist checked my nightguard, he indeed found a burr that was causing the trouble for me – like having a stone in your shoe. It took a moment to check, and a moment to solve – both of which Dr. Adrian refused to do, with no reasonable explanation.

I have never been treated with such undeserved contempt by any other medical or dental professional in my life. While I can certainly vouch for Dr. Jay’s expertise and work ethic, I cannot recommend Willits Family Dentistry, on the chance that you may sometime need to see Dr. Adrian and he takes a similar unwarranted dislike to you.

I saw Dr. Jae on 3/19/2025 and I would enthusiastically recommend the excellent dental care that was provided. One can tell that Dr.Jae and staff wish to provide the most efficient, organized, and in this case, innovative professional local service possible. I will explain.
Upon the dental exam, a purulent discharge from a single deep pocket, molar tooth was observed. A dental cleaning with a possible deep cleaning was recommended.
In advance, I had time to order from Affinity DNA: the Oral Microbiome Analysis kit. The kit can identify, by DNA analysis, the 5 most pathogenic species present in periodontal pockets.
Brittnie was very helpful, my dental cleaning needed to be coordinated with my DNA sample collection. The challenge was accepted without hesitation by Dr.Jae and his staff. It was a seamless operation.
The dental cleaning was done by the knowledgeable and skillful dental hygienist Marci. Dr.Jae then performed the DNA sample collection painlessly.
Overall, I would rate this as a 5, the best dental service ever!
