Joy greeted us and from thereafter this was the destination to experience a view from a setting were the quality wine is almost over powered by the mountains in all directions. After a moment of orientation the wine complimented the experience. Joy’s knowledge of geology is only matched by her understanding of wine. With her assistance we learn the difference between quartz and diamonds. And each sip proved the drive brought us to a fortune in sight and taste.

We stopped by Wild Diamond on a whim for the wine tasting and were beyond delighted with our experience. The drive through the property is beautiful, and up a well defined, mid-grade gravel road. When you arrive at the top of the mountain, the vista is captivating and the set-up of the tasting area is modern and welcoming.
As we walked up to the tasting building window, we were greeted by Joy and Travis, who immediately put a glass of Sauvignon Blanc in our hands and invited us to find a place to sit. We sat on the top deck and enjoyed many great wines!
The tasting area has been in place for about 3 years and it is clear they are continuing to develop the tasting set-up offerings. Currently, they offer several great wines and it is easy to spend hours there.
They do not have food available, but if you call ahead to plan your trip they can have a charcuterie prepared for you!
We joined the wine club membership and look forward to going back again and again! It is a Lake County gem!

This hidden gem at the top of the mountain Is so worth the drive. It doesn’t matter if it’s a week day or the weekend l, they never disappoint. As we were walking up to the tasting room yesterday, Dylan met us with a couple glasses of their Albariño and a very heartfelt welcome. This is a place we always look forward to coming back to and sharing with friends. Bring yourselves or bring friends and enjoy the wonderful view while sipping some of the best wines in Lake County.
