Traveled to Trinidad on one of my stops on my honeymoon. We were in town for a few days and ate here 3 times. I barely even eat most sushi (I dont actually eat raw fish). My husband was in cloud 9 and as someone who enjoys veggie rolls and crab/prawn options I was thrilled to have choices. The pineapple prawns are amazing. The happy hour oysters are amazing and perfect, “an absolute steal” per the hub. Couldn’t recommend more. You’re paying for Good food made with love. The owner is clearly a flavor scientist, we believe he could win masterchef or next level chef – should you compete and make it to the finale please invite us to support you (lol). Also, Sid is a great server! Had her twice and adored her. Very attentive, thanks girl.
Hands down the best sushi we’ve had! 10/10! The owner/chef has done an amazing job. The food and atmosphere are amazing. I was also blown away by how kid friendly it was as that was a big worry of mine when we went. My favorite roll is the Reptar, followed by the Honey Crunch. But you really can’t go wrong. Their tempura is also top tier as well. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was INCREDIBLE!!!! The ambiance, the wait staff and the food were phenomenal. The host and waitress were immediately welcoming as soon as we walked in the door and the place was bumping. We got the godzilla shumai to start and they were so delectable that we got them for dessert as well. For sushi we ordered summer in the city, a salmon avocado roll, and the seared salmon roll and they were all to die for. This place is a must visit FOR sure. I would say that if you’re in a rush it’s maybe not the best as the wait times for food/check/etc were a bit long. Not a problem at all if you’re not in a rush though. Everything else was phenomenal including the fun mixed drinks and I wish I was still eating those sushi rolls and shumai.
UMAMI is hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to. The fish was incredibly fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and every roll was packed with flavor. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere felt both modern and relaxing. I especially loved how carefully everything was prepared — you can really tell they care about quality. Whether you’re a sushi lover or trying Japanese food for the first time, UMAMI is definitely worth visiting. I’ll absolutely be coming back!
