Run, don’t walk to The Record! Food was amazing, the atmosphere was filled with interesting artifacts and eye candy, plus amazing service. We were lucky to stop in during a night where live music was playing and this just added to the amazing vibe. We ordered the chilli-glazed chicken wings for a starter and split the Caesar salad and Ruben. The salad was so fresh (definitely sharable) and the Ruben was super gooey and delicious. A gem!!
Since this is a small town with only a few bars, I visited this place after reading some reviews. It’s located in a building with a bit of historical background, and the interior is charmingly decorated. The jukebox, which had just been brought in the day before, was a fun touch—and it’s free to use.
They do serve draft beer, but hard liquor isn’t available yet. There are outdoor tables, and I can imagine it getting quite busy during peak season. The cozy details and the owner’s thoughtful touches stand out, though I think the food still has room for improvement.
At the moment, the dishes are too simple and not particularly special, which is a drawback. Still, this is something that can definitely be improved, and I’d consider it one of the three places worth visiting in Point Arena.
The challenge for this spot is to carry a wider variety of beers and to offer snacks or dishes that go beyond the usual, so they stand out more.
Tea & cocktail was pretty impressed
Overall, it’s a place I recommend.
We were driving on the highway to reach a small village of Point Arenas, on the way to the Point Arena Lighthouse, and we passed by this restaurant called The Records. A vibrant atmosphere, good music, very nice decoration, with self-service water, very clean bathrooms. We ordered, it looked like a new place. You can see and feel it, the food is made with love. I ordered a chicken soup with vegetables and a sangria, and my husband ordered a sandwich, a Reuben sandwich, it came with pickles. They also announce that their food is bought supporting local people to get their products. So in general, it was a very good experience, and I recommend if you are traveling around here, on the Pacific Coast of California, on the 1, going up to the Point Arena Lighthouse, stop by the restaurant The Records. Enjoy. Also, there is going to be, I think on September 20th, a celebration, I leave the information in the photos, in case you see this review nearby and want to stop by.
