I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at the Ukiah Home Depot and will be taking my business elsewhere moving forward.
I came into the store looking to purchase cutting blades, grinding blades, and other supplies for a large project my husband is working on in Covelo. We are spending thousands of dollars on materials and I came prepared with clear photos of exactly what I needed.
When I asked for assistance locating the correct cutting and grinding blades, a woman with orange/red hair who was standing and talking with Matt simply pointed toward Aisle 42 and said the items were there. She immediately turned her back to continue her conversation. As I walked down the aisle trying to locate the products, she yelled, “You passed it!” while still standing with Matt and never once offered to walk over, look at my photos, or help me identify the correct blades.
I specifically brought photos because I wanted to ensure I purchased the right products. Neither she nor Matt would even take a moment to look at them. As a result, I ended up purchasing the wrong blades and now have to make another trip to return them—something that could have been easily avoided with even a minimal level of customer service.
The bright spot in my experience was Angel. He helped me look for hydraulic fluid and, although Home Depot did not carry what I needed, he took the time to help me figure out where I could find it locally. This wasn’t the first time Angel has gone above and beyond for me. He previously helped me find the correct electrical outlet for another project. Angel represents exactly what customer service should look like—knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely willing to help customers.
Unfortunately, one great employee cannot make up for the overall experience. Home Depot lost out on approximately $1,500 in blade purchases alone because of the lack of customer service I received. After leaving Home Depot, I went to Tractor Supply, where employees helped me from start to finish. As a result, I spent several thousand dollars there on cutting blades, grinding blades, wire brushes, and other project supplies.
With my husband’s project ongoing in the area, I am purchasing materials almost daily. However, I will no longer be shopping at the Ukiah Home Depot. Tractor Supply and Lowe’s have earned my business because they understand that customer service matters.

I bought a refrigerator 4 months ago and now the door won’t stay shut. I’ve tried calling Home Depot 7 times this morning and the call was disconnected each time. This phone situation has been going on for years. I can NEVER get ahold of them by phone. This phone situation has been going on for at least 2 years. I love Home Depots prices but damn this phone problem. I live in next city over , it’s a 45 minute trip to Home Depot.
