Well, once again I found myself in Hopland with nothing better to do than eat. I spent most of the day chasing Wiggled Bowringers and Wiener Piglets just above SquawRock out on the Bradford Ranch with Fingernail Fred and his hound dog Mr. Peabody, we saw a lot of hogs but none worthy of the Webber so we called it a day, and went to The Golden Pig for their world famous porkchops! I got the Loin Chop, and it was simply amazing!
5 ☆☆☆☆☆’s and worthy of a 2 hour drive!
We really enjoyed the chicken pot pie, chili, and the beet goat cheese salad. We enjoyed everything to be honest, hot dog was huge and perfectly seasoned. The ceviche was good but would least likely recommend that one. The quiche was good but a bit dry.
This is seriously good food. The smoked pork chop is pricey, yes, but IMHO worth every penny – it’s really that good. The lasagna was also first-rate. We had the double watermelon tequila drink which was awesome too. Highly recommended!
Honestly, this spot never misses. I’ve been here a few times now and it’s always on point—from the starters all the way to dessert. The service is just as solid as the food; our server really went above and beyond. The fries? Perfectly crispy every time. The spring salad tasted super fresh, and that potato salad… I don’t say this lightly, but it’s the closest thing to homemade I’ve had since family cookouts. Just a great, reliable place all around.
I had the perky pumpkin, pumpkin and ginger soup, and their quiche. My husband had their sliders.
Also, ask for the discount for their wine tasting store just a couple of doors over.
