Stopped in on our road trip. For the shuck yourself Thursday lunch. Absolutely phenomenal, the oysters, the cheese, break, crackers. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were so nice and helpful. You can tell they all love their job. That’s a successful business. We loved it so much we came for the tour the next day and learned so much about the process. Absolutely loved the experience. We want to come back so bad. Love this place and love the staff.
We made an 11am reservation on May 9th 2026. So no issues with parking, but there were a LOT of cyclists on the road to get there! Come early! We haven’t been here for a few years, so we wanted to try their oysters three ways. The Hog Island Sweetwater raw oysters were delicious – mildly briny, sweet and creamy! The Smoked Oysters Hog Island Conservas were interesting and almost tasted like “meat”. The Chipotle Bourbon Butter grilled oysters were sooo good! Our favorite of the three! Along with the oysters, we tried their Lady Edison prosciutto (very salty), Salmon crudo(?) special (good but very small portion), house-made pickled veggies (good and crisp), and local bread and butter (good but wished the bread was warm). We enjoyed the meal drinking a couple of cold refreshing Hog Island Pilner draft beer! We were sat at an unshaded outdoor high top table for 2. It was overlooking the beautiful Tomales Bay. The day we were there the sun was intense, but the wind was cold. So be prepared with sunscreen and/or a hat and a jacket! Enjoy!
Everything oysters. Best I’ve ever had excited they are now available in all Northern California Whole Foods. However, nothing like getting them from the source. Great service from a friendly staff highly recommended
Quaint and rustic outdoor seating, overlooking the very beautiful Tomales Bay from where the oysters are harvested. The vibe screams Nantucket.
Shellfish heaven: Hog Island Oysters (raw or grilled on-the-half-shell, bourbon butter a true winner), Gulf Shrimp, and Bodega Bay Dungeness Crab. Farm-fresh salads, home-pickled veggies, and fresh bread loaf with local butter — always a winning accompaniment.
A must-stop when driving Highway 1 — make it the first when driving north from San Francisco/Golden Gate Bridge. Very photogenic premises.
