1890 hotel…comes with the charm of yesteryear, but also with the hiccups. Rooms are sparce, bed and a chair…that is it! Bathrm large and current, but old pipes so forget a hot shower as water is barely Luke warm.
Full bar, counter “cafe” but not serving much. Stairs, no elevator.
Our room was very noisy… Old air conditioner made lots of noise plus windows do not keep out outside noise! They know about how noisy things are so they give you ear plugs when you check in.
Didn’t go to stay at the hotel, but to just get a drink. The atmosphere was stunning and service was excellent. I will definitely book a room th we re next time I’m in town!
Staff seemed friendly but this place is missing some amenities that I find most places have that are important to me at least. Arrived in the afternoon and cafe was closed and left the following morning early. Never found access to coffee anywhere (really like the convenience of something in the room for coffee making). Room had a fridge but it was plugged into an outlet that was dead, seemed to work after we moved furniture around and found a live outlet. Also no ice machine on premises, you have to ask at bar, I really like just getting ice without having to ask. Wi fi network accepted the password but no Internet so modem must have been offline so no working Internet. Maybe the most interesting thing was having to physically get in the shower under the shower head to be able to turn it on.
Handsome updated historic hotel with a bar and café. We were happy to have a spacious handicapped equipped room on the first floor with a smakk patio, because understandably there is no elevator. Bring a book or maybe a computer to watch entertainment as there are no TVs. The staff was very friendly and even treated us to a glass of champagne to toast our 50th anniversary. There is a small pool and bocce court that we did not have time to try.
Nice experience on check in but issues with the room and lack of resolution resulted in an unsatisfactory stay overall.
Front desk staff was very nice on check in and the welcome drink from the bar was much appreciated, but there were issues with the room. 1) large red stain on the sheets in the bed indicate they were not changed from the last guest (!) 2) no front desk or housekeeping on had at night meant we just had to deal with it 3) when mentioned to the front desk on check out, there was no attempt at resolving the issue. It is not great to pay $380 race rate for 1 night’s stay and get dirty sheets. Emailing the hotel after automated invoice send also had no response. I recommend the hotel review their housekeeping and customer service processes.
