One of my favorite eateries in the entire Bay area! This is an amazing Mexican dinner as evidenced by the impressive food contest awards that filled the restaurant’s wall. The interior is brightly-lit, clean and very spacious for SF. Management and staff are courteous and cheerful, a real standout from the abysmal customer service from large number of SF based eateries. Parking can be of an issue particularly during the day time in the Mission if you want a proper sit-down meal, while night time can feel a little edgy with the large number of unhoused people. Fresh made tropical juices here are out of this world and pair well with the wraps, Highest recommendation for locals and visitors alike!
When I walked into the taqueria, I first noticed how large the interior is, and how open it seemed. The ceilings are very high, with some unique wall art. The interior can feel a bit empty and cold, due to the vast size of it, and the white walls. It can also be a bit cold in here, so keep in mind! The menu was large and easy to read, and the kitchen was very clean and organized. They also have a huge self serve bar, with limes, salsas, radishes, cilantro and more. They also have a free water station, as well as plastic utensils out for grabs. Inside, there are many 4 seat tables, with some of the most unique chairs I’ve ever seen. They seem like taller stools, but regardless are extremely unique and stood out to me. The tables however are a bit small and I would reccomed one table per two people. Their menu is very extensive, offering desserts, meals and drinks.
The service was very quick, with my order being finished in less than five minutes, and being brought out to me. However, I found the (ordering) service a bit aloof. They were quick and efficient to take my order, but did not seem very welcoming or friendly. However the lady who brought my food out was very kind and friendly!
The food was extremely tasty. The price was average for a burrito in SF, I ordered the regular burrito with carne asada (1.35 extra), and with sour cream (1.5 dollars extra?) and it came out to about 16 dollars (including tax). The carne asada was smoky and a bit tough, the perfect texture in a burrito. If you are not a fan of beans, like me, you can ask for refried beans instead of regular beans in the burrito. You can add other add ones to your burrito such as cheese, guacamole and more, for a added cost of usually 1-3 dollars. The burrito was massive , and half a burrito honestly filled me up. They add jalapenos into the burritos, so make sure you ask them to not include that if you’re not a fan of spice. They also give you a side of tortilla chips per order!!! (Free!!) Overall, it was very flavorful, the rice was fluffy, meat smoky and tasty, the burrito was a good value for its portion.
Some highlights: I really enjoyed the free toppings/sauce bar, they make a GREAT spicy salsa verde!! And really appreciated the limes and cilantro. Free tortilla chips were amazing. Burrito was good value, big portion, and free utensils and water. The only downside to this place is the interior can be a bit intimidating, service is kinda aloof, and bathrooms are run down. Other than that, extremely clean and efficient restaurant! Woukd reccomed checking this place out!n
My favorite Mexican place in Mission! Always light, clean, smells delicious and you can see the cooks working at the open kitchen. Gives me the confidence that the food is fresh and yummy. I love their quesadillas, enchiladas and dinner plates. They always deliver maximum quality and flavor for the price. I never get tired to recommend this place to people visiting SF.
I paid for extra meat but as you can see in the photo they did not give me extra meat this place is shady watch them very closely
The food is usually good, the service can be really crappy, and the food also depends on if they make your order as you requested. I’ve been coming here since I was a young child I’m now in my mid 30s. I’m disappointed today every bite has a whole bunch of fat and tendons; so I’m literally chewing my burrito and spitting out what’s supposed to be all the meat. And this is the whole first half of my burrito. I had it cut in half and wrapped separately. Only to get to the end of my burrito and find that there’s no meat
