Authentic Mexican food. Nice staff. The main drawback is that it’s located in a grocery store. On the up side there are tables outside.

BEST Quesabirria in town!
I was curious last week, so I stopped in at Simply Sabor Cafe, which is a small taqueria inside Ava’s Downtown Market & Deli:Mountain View. I saw they had quesabirria on the menu, so I asked to try some of their consume. If it wasn’t any good, I wasn’t going to bother… but it was excellent, 10/10
So this week, Pops and I wandered down there to try their “Quesabirria combo”, $15, 3 quesabirria tacos with housemade consume. Perfect amount of food, and let me tell you, I was BLOWN AWAY at how good they are. Not a lot of cheese in them, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you might be disappointed, but the spices. The flavors of the consume are perfectly intertwined with the tender meat, and Marco, the owner, hand-blends all the spices that go into it.
These are now by far my favorite quesabirra in the area, and I’ve tried them at every place that has them on the menu.
Do yourself a favor and go try em.
Besides, after winning a best of Mtn View award, Simply Sabor will be having specials starting next week, including happy hours, small bites and half-off beer specials.
Don’t sleep on this place. Perfectly located in the center of downtown, maybe do some grocery shopping at Ava’s while you’re there, it’s a win-win. Chores and Tacos!

Simply Sabor was fantastic! We ordered the asada burrito, asada taco, shrimp taco, and root beer, and everything was delicious. The meats were flavorful and cooked perfectly, the toppings were fresh, and the portions were generous. The burrito was packed with flavor, and both tacos were outstanding.
What really made the experience special was the owner. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and the quality of the food. That personal touch made an already great meal even better.
Amazing food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Cafe Balaclava is a true gem. It might look unassuming from the outside, but the interior is cozy and lovely.
Their house Cabernet Sauvignon far exceeds my expectations and their kebab is the best I’ve had in a good while. 10/10 would come again.

We just had dinner at Simply Sabor, and it was fantastic! The chorizo tacos were bursting with flavor, and the sabor fries were my daughters favorite. Marco really knows how to bring the flavor to every dish! My whole family left happy and satisfied. We’ll definitely be back!
