Omar was amazing! We each got the clam chowder in bread bowl with coconut prawns. Started with some crab cakes and Malibu sunset.
The ocean at sunset is beautiful.

Via DoorDash, I ordered the Classic Prawn Cocktail x2
and the Seaside Tacos with cod that come with chips and salsa.
The prawns arrived with No cocktail sauce.
The tacos arrived with No creamy jalapeño sauce and No salsa for the chips they’re sitting on.
I have ordered delivery from Seaside Restaurant and Bar many times and the food has been tasty and consistent.
I am glad I’ve never tried to call before!
When I called the advertised phone number for Seaside Restaurant and Bar to seek resolution, the phone was answered by the clerk at the hotels front desk!
What hotel? Where’s the Restaurant and Bar phone?!
Originally when I called, the young man answering the phone took my information and number and stated he would look into my issue and call me back.
30 minutes later, I received a text, Not a phone call as promised, from the hotel desk young man. He refused to give me his name or title.
He texts me that it’s the DoorDash drivers fault and Seaside is not responsible for food that’s left the restaurant.
I explained that the food was missing ingredients before it left and Seaside Restaurant sent it out that way.
I was then texted it is the drivers responsibility to check!
The driver is supposed to Open the bag they’re given, and then open the food containers, to ensure the restaurant made their food as advertised?!
Are you serious?!
When I asked for a kitchen manager to call me, I was texted a number to call. The man who answered was the hotel desk manager, and not even at work!
I texted back and forth with the young man and finally gave up after they refused to connect me directly with the kitchen and told me again and again it was DoorDash fault.
At one point the young man texted I could come into the restaurant and seek assistance.
I order via delivery because I am a mobility limited senior citizen and I like to occasionally splurge on dinner! If I could drive around, I’d save the delivery fees!
Ultimately, I was never able to speak to any kitchen staff or manager.
My order was not corrected.
I don’t know why the restaurant and bar cannot be contacted directly.
The photos show What I ordered vs What I received.
My receipt shows I didn’t order any changes to items off the menu!

I would love to love this place but the food is just not there. Drinks are fantastic. Service is friendly and prompt. Omar took great care of me. However the food needs work. The first night o had a burger and it was pretty tasteless. Thankfully the drinks were incredible and drowned out the fact that the burger kind of sucked. Night too. I had an incredible dinner. The crab cakes was wonderful and creamy. My drinks were fantastic. However, The banana dessert that I had been looking forward to was served with a frozen banana vl that hurt my tooth as I bit down on it. Kind of a bummer as location is just so beautiful that people so friendly but the food kind of sucks.

A Hidden Gem with Breathtaking Views — But the Food Needs Work
We recently visited the Redwoods and were hoping to cap off our day with dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset. Being from the East Coast, this was a special treat for us. Unfortunately, since it was a Sunday, many restaurants in Crescent City were either closed or closing early. After checking multiple spots and facing long wait times, we reluctantly stopped at Seaside Restaurant and Bar, despite some of the reviews we had read.
Let’s start with the good: the view is absolutely stunning — 5/5 without question. We sat inside by large windows that offered uninterrupted views of the ocean, and after dinner, we walked just a few steps outside to capture photos of the gorgeous sunset. The location is unbeatable for a romantic or scenic dining experience.
Now for the not-so-great: the restaurant itself needs some work. Yes, the tables are sticky — but to be fair, it’s the coating meant to keep tablecloths from slipping, not a cleanliness issue. Still, it doesn’t make for the best first impression.
The real letdown was the menu and food quality. The restaurant seems to be trying to offer too many types of cuisine — Mexican, Mongolian, and more — and unfortunately, none of it feels authentic or particularly well-made. We’d love to see them simplify the menu and lean into what makes sense for the area: fresh, local coastal dishes. A skilled chef with a focus on quality ingredients could truly transform this place.
In short, the setting is incredible, but the food doesn’t live up to it — at least not yet. We truly hope someone sees the potential and gives this little seaside spot the attention it deserves.

The restaurant is inside a hotel which usually is not my first choice for a restaurant but on a recommendation from my airbnb hosts i decided to give it a try. The location is great for catching and watching a sunset. They even have 2 picnic tables that you can eat at outside. Many beer and alcoholic beverages to choose from. Kind of a limited menu though. Decided to go with the fisherman’s mussels. Excellent
