We went to Clear Lake in a family vacation for New Years Eve. We decided to go wine tasting and we ended up at Rosa d’Oro winery. It was the best wine tasting experience I’ve ever had. Nick was so personable. We talked about the wine making experience and how Rosa d’Oro came to be, family. To top it off the wine is amazing. The Chardonnay is superb and I’m not a white wine type of person. I prefer reds. All the red we had were so delicious. My husband and I ended up purchasing a case of wine. Since we enjoyed the wine so much we decided to stop by on our way home (8 hour drive) to purchase another case of wine. Thanks Nick for such a great experience and for making such delicious wine. We will be ordering wine in the future.
Family small winery. Yes, the entrance is the driveway to their house. Park just past the small ‘office’ with the young olive trees. We spent two wonderful hours visiting with Nick. My favorite wine is their Aglianico. We learned that the ‘ag’ in Italian is the same as the ‘ll’ in Spanish or ‘y’ in English, the wine is pronounced ‘i-yahn-ico’. Sort of. The olive oil was delightful.
Hidden gem! Fantastic experience owner spent a lot of time with us explaining his vineyard and olive trees. Awesome one on one attention. Don’t miss this place! No tasting fees (if that is a concern) and discount for 6 bottles or more. Great wine and olive oil.
Have heard good things about this winery, lack of reviews didnt bother me.. but must say time to update them.. We had a wonderful experience. Was greeted by Nick ( owner ). Very nice, informative, knowledgeable , there wines are a bit different. As in Italian.. interesting and delicious. They also have there own olive oil. Nick told us great stories and great sense of humor. His son popped into say Hi also. This is a family owned and run great little winery.
