The night I went, they were down a chef. I had high hopes for the place. Our waiter was running table to table trying to apease hungry customers. When he brought the warm bread to the table we quickly ordered an appetizer while scanning the menu. I ordered a drink to wait out the chaos. The bread was delicious. The fried zucchini came out twenty minutes later. I impatiently tried to eat one and scolded myself. I highly recommend waiting 10 minutes to bite into one of those if you order them. When the filet mignon came out that I had ordered I was ecstatic. I bit in to the mashed potatoes to utter disappointment. The filet mignon however, melted in my mouth the way a popsicle does on a hot summer day. It was absolutely divine; the star of the show had truly pulled through. If you happen to be in Yuba City, I recommend wandering over to The Ranch House. Come prepared to invest in a tender steak, but be prepared with good company in case you experience a delay.

We came around 8pm and they close at 9pm. I had my heart set on prime rib and they only had one end cut left for $42 I don’t know about you but I don’t want to pay that kind of money for any kind of well done meat. We have never been here before and everything was priced pretty high. So I got the stroganoff and the meat and mushrooms were tender they used a spice I couldn’t place that made me take my meal home. My husband’s burger was fantastic and my nefew’s surf and turf was well he cleaned his plate. My brother got a steak but it was very chewy instead of being succulent and went home in a doggy bag. Hopefully this was due to the lateness but that should not have mattered for the cost of each plate. The most impressive thing this restaurant does is brings your food steaming hot to your table. I can’t say that about any other restaurant unless they are cooking it in front of you! They also made me a kick ass virgin bloody Mary to die for! So you win some and you lose some. I would go back…
