This was our second time here and just as good as the first!
Server was friendly and quick.

Hope to be back again soon on our next trip up the coast!
Off the Hook in Fort Bragg truly delivers a welcoming experience, anchored by a staff that is incredibly accommodating and attentive to their guests. From the moment you settle in, the atmosphere feels like a proper neighborhood staple—relaxed, friendly, and efficient. It is refreshing to find a spot where the service matches the comfort of the setting, making it an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free dining experience in town.
The food quality here is impressive, highlighting a commitment to fresh ingredients across the board. I started with the California roll, which was expertly prepared and generously filled with real crab meat and fresh avocado. The chicken satay was equally satisfying, arriving as a hearty portion loaded with plenty of vegetables, tender chicken, and served alongside rice and a crisp lettuce salad. It was clear that care was taken in the preparation, resulting in a meal that felt both balanced and deeply flavorful.
To round out the meal, I opted for the Scrimshaw pilsner, which was an excellent choice and a perfect complement to the fresh sushi and savory satay. The crisp, clean profile of the beer elevated the entire experience, making it a standout pairing. Overall, if you are looking for a meal that hits all the right notes—great quality food, excellent drink pairings, and top-tier service—Off the Hook is a fantastic destination that does not disappoint.
First time at this restaurant and visiting from out of town. Portions are large, the rolls and tempura. I was really happy with how everything tasted. The miso soup and tempura was some of the best tasting dishes I’ve had at a sushi place.
I ordered the rainbow roll and the reggae special roll. Rainbow roll was alright with the crab mix center, fish on top was delicious. The Raggae Special Roll was so divine with the lightly deep fried tuna.
Would definitely come back again with a bigger appetite!!!
Great vegetarian selection. Rolls are big and heavy, almost hard to pick up with the chop sticks. Delicious and filling. I had the sweet potato roll, the vegetable tempura roll, and the magic mushrooms. All delicious.
Really good food and were seated quickly. The sake was delicious! I had the udon noodle dish with chicken and my husband had the stir fry with pork. Decent food, was a little pricy though. Our water glasses were never filled up and we rarely saw the waitress, so were thirsty for most of the meal.
