Oakville Grocery is a Napa Valley gem and a must-stop, est. 1881! This historic market in St. Helena is packed with charm, from the original wood floors and a stunning glass-covered well feature, to shelves overflowing with local jams, hot sauces, olives, and gourmet pastas. The prepared foods case is outstanding, with options like Broccoli Salad, Pesto Pasta Salad, Beet Salad, and a gorgeous Watermelon Feta Salad. The deli counter is equally impressive, stocked with house-made charcuterie, artisan cheeses, and beef jerky. For lunch, the sandwich menu has serious depth, the Muffaletta and Hot Ham & Brie both caught my eye, plus wood-fired pizzas and a solid burger. Add in their house bacon jam and fresh-baked cookies, and it’s easy to spend way longer here than planned. A perfect stop for a Wine Country picnic or just to soak in some local history. Highly recommend!

Quick stop in for lunch between winery tours per the recommendation from our guide at Far Niente. The Chicken Gruyère sandwich was absolutely phenomenal. Moist, flavorful, to die for. We’ve talked about it each day since. Juan was our bartender and was an impeccable host. Friendly, quick service, knowledgeable about the menu & the area, and great banter with us. This place is a must stop if you’re in the area.

Oakville Grocery is a great stop in Napa Valley if you’re looking for a quick but quality bite.
This place has a perfect mix of deli, grocery, and casual dining. It’s a popular stop between winery visits, and the vibe is very relaxed and local.
The pizza was surprisingly good. Freshly made, with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. It’s simple, but done right — exactly what you want after a few wine tastings.
There are plenty of grab-and-go options, sandwiches, and snacks as well, making it a convenient stop for a light meal or picnic.
The outdoor seating area is a highlight. Sitting outside with a glass of wine and good food in the middle of Napa Valley just feels right.
⚠️ It can get busy during peak hours, and seating may be limited.
Overall, a solid spot to recharge while exploring Napa Valley.

Loved our catered lunch served on the patio. Very comfortable with a great view of the mountains and vineyards. The pizza was a perfect flat crust baked in a traditional oven. Loved every bite. Salad fresh on a hot day.
