We chose Moonstone Grill to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, which I even noted on the reservation. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had.
Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, our food took 80 minutes to start arriving, and the six meals came out over the next 20 minutes. Ironically, the kids’ meal (which we had to create by sharing an adult entrée because there isn’t a kids’ menu) arrived last. We also ordered bread while we waited, but it didn’t arrive until after the food—and without butter.
Service was extremely slow throughout the entire meal. We rarely saw our server, and even getting the check took a long time. We asked to split the bill three ways but instead received six separate checks, making payment unnecessarily complicated.
The food was decent, but nowhere near worth the price. You’re paying for the ocean view, not the quality or service. We skipped dessert for my mom’s birthday because after nearly three hours, we just wanted to get our kids home. That’s a memory we won’t get back.
I might return for a drink to enjoy the view, but I won’t be back for dinner.

Stunning location…Definitely reserve to have access to front windows sitting otherwise you get walked to the back of the restaurant. Service was slow…they were out of 3 items I wanted on the menu. How do you run out of fish and chips at a coastal restaurant? Out of a feature dessert…no accommodation at all for food allergies. The waitress was sweet and offer her employee discount when the chocolate cake turned out to be dry on top of all the other hiccups. I would still go back if in the área for the fantastic location.

Wife and I stopped for dinner after a long day hiking and exploring the area.
The restaurant is set just above the beach below. This makes the entire setting stunning and for a beautiful atmosphere.
We had a reservation and were sat quickly by the polite staff.
We tried the smoked salmon wontons to start, which were perfectly prepared with great flavor. My wifes filet came with a salad that she noted was fresh with good flavor. Her filet was prepared well and the potatoes were lovely. I had the Cioppino, which was a wonderfully prepared seafood dish. We split some risotto which was also excellent.
The views from our table were excellent. Food was excellent. Overall experience was great. It was not the most inexpensive meal in town but thats okay it was worth it.
If your even considering stopping, do it. You wont be disappointed. Then go for a walk on the beach after, which is equally as lovely.

We went to the park for the sunset and decided to go have a drink at the Grill which is right there. We sat on the deck which has four two seat tables but the view for the sunset, absolutely stunning!
We had to have food because it looked amazing and it was. We decided on Cauliflower sticky wings, Coconut Prawns and a couple Mai Tais.
The staff and all the people we met and talked to were very friendly.
And absolutely amazing dining experience.
Go for happy hour and go near sunset…amazing!

Practically on the beach, this restaraunt has a great view no matter where you sit. The food is incredible, we splurged on a couple late lunch drinkies, I got the citrus martini and it went great with the California Nigiri appetizer. For our entree we had the bowl of clam chowder and the chicken penne pasta with in-house made noodles. Everything was delicious. The server gal was super sweet and very attentive. We were so full that we ordered the lemon cannoli to go because it sounded so good. Great views, beautiful atmosphere, nice service and the kitchen knows their stuff. Can’t wait to go back and try more items.
