Great place for outdoor outing throughout the year. Swimming and canoeing along the beautiful river. There’s plenty of wild life observation opportunities. Fun place to be with no cost.

Mendocino Headlands State Park and Big The very Property is a great place to spend the day exploring the available trails and scenery. Plenty to do if spending the day here and the town of Mendocino is very close by and offers palces to eat and sleep and plenty of history to see.

We rented a canoe from catch a canoe and and paddled our way up big river for a few hours. Next time, all day! Be sure to bring the DEET. We encountered some very buggy areas.
