Maya’s Kitchen by Chef Ramiro was a great experience. The food was flavorful, fresh, and nicely presented, with a creative take on Mexican dishes. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and the service was friendly throughout the visit. I also liked that the menu has a good variety, from tacos and birria options to unique starters. Overall, it’s a nice spot in downtown Sacramento for good food, good vibes, and a relaxed meal. Definitely worth checking out.
This is our favorite restaurant in Sacramento, their Mole is amazing. The service is great and everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Not surprised they’re always busy. Great location for dinner before a show at the performing arts center.
Food was ok but not for the price. Carnitas was dry and not traditional Mexican food quality. You had to pay for chips and salsa which is normally free at Mexican restaurants. Also my bill had an extra 3.5% charge added as kitchen supplement fee. When asked what that was the waiter told me it an additional charge for the cooks but said he would remove it. Then after it was removed we asked if they got paid hourly or just tips and the waiter said the owner uses that extra fee to pay the employees. So sad! The owner is definitely finding ways to turn a bigger profit for himself by charging the customers that fee without their knowledge if you don’t look at the bill. I will not be back and if the food was half the price I still wouldn’t eat it because I can cook better than that by far.
This place is very popular and I can see why. I had a margarita while I waited for my takeaway. It was quite a wait to get served. I had the chicken mole and it was very good. I think the service would be better if they stayed open a little later and turned over the tables for a late service. The place has too many guests all at once.

Excellent entrees using fresh ingredients and well-made cocktails – even sotol! Great vibe and friendly staff with suggestions.
