I don’t leave 1-star reviews lightly, but after two vehicle purchases, I feel people deserve to know what our experience has been.
The first vehicle was delivered with a strong cigarette smoke smell, brake noise, very little gas, and it hadn’t even been properly cleaned. We were told not to worry because it had been a busy day. Our salesperson, Alex, gave us his number and promised they would detail the car, address the smoke smell, check the brakes, and make everything right afterward. Despite multiple attempts to contact him, none of those promises were ever fulfilled.
Against our better judgment, we gave Manly Auto another chance. My daughter purchased a 2024 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid and was strongly encouraged to buy the extended warranty. It was presented as peace of mind—that if anything happened while driving across the country, she could simply stop at any Honda dealership and it would be taken care of.
Now the car has developed issues. It’s been difficult to get anyone to help, and we’re being told the expensive repair isn’t covered because the warranty only covers the powertrain. That is not how it was presented during the sale.
The problem isn’t that cars can have issues. That happens. The problem is making promises to close the deal and then disappearing when the customer needs help.
At this point, I would rather drive an hour to another dealership than buy another vehicle here. My family, friends, and anyone who asks me for a recommendation will hear about this experience.
If you’re considering buying from Manly Auto, get every promise in writing, read every warranty yourself, and don’t rely solely on what you’re told during the sales process.
We gave this dealership two chances. There won’t be a third.
We bought a used Hyundai IONIQ 5 today, and the sales team (Jaden and Cody) we worked with was awesome! I wasn’t planning to buy a car so quickly after my Chevy volt needed big repairs, but Jaden was helpful and patient, and we got a car we love quickly and painlessly!! Jaden even delivered it, as there was one small matter to deal with before the car was ours. Also Ben, the finance guy was awesome and explained everything to us carefully, while also chatting with my husband about baseball. Overall, great car-buying experience! Thanks!
I do not understand how they stay in business with the service they provide.
Brand new Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy, top of the line 6 passengers, room for me, my wife, dogs and grandkids , but wait a minute NO DOGS ALLOWED. Hyundai warranty, according to the service manager Dogs are not considered normal use. The fact that the cheap leather seats, rip when my dogs sit in them is not normal use and not covered under warranty, come on dude, are you insane ? according to Manly service manager. His help with the defect was to give me Hyundais phone number. I wonder where he will be working next week? I have had leather seats in my Chevrolet, dogs have ridden in it for 8 years, not a scratch, my GMC Sierra, 16 years, not a scratch.
Stay away from Manly. Saturday I’ll head to Petaluma and see what a real service department has to say.
Bought the Genesis GV80 Prestige here and it was the best experience and the best car we’ve ever had. The sales team is low key and not pushy. The finance manager was also easy to deal with. No pressure here!
