This place was great! We stayed a week at the shelter cove RV park and this was a daily stop for my kids! We loved going here especially during low tide, a lot of great tidal pools to check out! There is good access the the ocean and public restrooms not too far away. Highly recommend it!
A favorite as a kid. So sad to see Shelter Cove grow so quickly from a few homes to hundreds or thousands. But it seems the coastal cliffs are still preserved.
Nice little spot for what it’s worth – plenty of parking. We were there before the lighthouse was open. As of today, the walkway down was closed (July 30, 2022), but it’s a nice view with plenty of seals.
But it’s worth it to go a little bit further down the road to Seal Rock.

Gorgeous area. Fun spot for a picnic or a little family tide pool exploring.
