The harbor park and fairly big lake looked beautiful from far away and while driving along its shore. But one could not help wonder why there was no noticeable resorts, higher end housing development, or higher end restaurants along the drive. There were some very beautiful private boat docks and piers with lovely privately built wooden cabanas at end of the piers. Maybe it was because of the excessive a mount of green algae floating in the water and the fairly strong smell from it. It could be seasonal but also could be a more permanent condition. The algae turned the water a murky dark green color.
This is one of the best spots in the area to get close to the water. The pier is great for fishing, and the boat launch area is convenient. I love coming here to enjoy the breeze off the lake. It’s quiet, relaxing, and the public restrooms are generally kept in good shape. A must-visit for locals and tourists alike.
Very nice park fishing good, you can fish of your 2 choices of piers or shoreline, boat ramp, bait shop, restroom within 25 yards. Gas convenient store across street
Beautiful, quiet, and just off the main road, this area had several parking spots and a few boat docks with scenic views. The air was fresh, the water was calm…the restrooms were even surprisingly clean and stocked for 6 pm in summer. There is at least one snack and beverage loaded gas station with a friendly attendant nearby, and two casinos within a mile.
Nice pier with tables but fishing wasn’t the best due to all the moss and oil pollution. We saw few signs of life and it was 100 degrees with few places to get out of the sun. The drought has water down at least 10 feet. Come here in cooler times. The final good thing is that there is a nice restroom, bait shop and plenty of free parking spots.
