In business 30 years, it has to be good, and it’s where local Latinos go. Besides the normal full menu there is a specials blackboard with a dozen more choices. I love the chile verde. The margaritas are big and reasonably priced The hot corn tortillas served as a side with some dishes tend to be on the dry side. They make corn chips from fried tortillas, and they tend to be thick and hard. No place is going to be perfect, but Los Gallitos is very very good, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Fort Bragg for excellent Mexican dishes.

This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone with a serious appetite, as the portion sizes are impressively huge and offer great value. The garlic prawns were a standout, rich and savory, while the fillet of fish was cooked to perfection, taco was really fresh too—everything pairs beautifully with their incredibly tasty and well-crafted drinks. The experience starts on a high note with fresh complimentary chips and salsa, making it a fantastic spot for a satisfying and flavorful Mexican feast.

Read mixed reviews but my friend wanted to go so went for lunch. We were seated promptly and brought chips and salsa. The chips were thick and good but the salsa was runny, lacking any flavor and substance. The pico de gallo was fresh but needed salt and some heat. My friend ordered a blended pineapple margarita and said it was good. She had the Chile Verde which didn’t seem to have much tomatillos if any at all. It did have huge chunks of meat but lacked savory flavor. My husband had the spicy shrimp which did live up to its name however the sauce tasted like it had ketchup in it. I ordered the Quesatacos de Babacoa which were loaded with very tender meat but again lacked flavor. The consomme looked and tasted like watered down beef broth. Service was quick and good and portions are huge for the price. It’s too bad the food lacks flavor.

They made the order wrong to begin with. I had asked the server if it’s possible that there’s no jalapeños, if not I could order something else. They informed me that they’d tell the kitchen no jalapeños. I’m sure you can see them on the plate from there. The chips tasted stale. The salsa was watered down and had no flavor to it.
The table was sticky and didn’t seem clean. The bathroom was dirty.

One of the best wet burritos I’ve ever had. They were really busy the night I was here, but my food came out quick and the margaritas were delicious. Definitely a must stop for dinner when in Fort Bragg.
