Let’s face it, La Comida is not high end mexican food. But I could drink their salsa!!! Service is ok. It’s a high volume place so I’m sure it’s hard for them to keep up. The atmosphere is definitely dated, but for me it adds to the nostalgia. I’ve been going to La Comida since super burritos with sour cream were $3.99. They used to be in Redding. I wish they’d come back!!! I never miss a trip to LC when I go to Chico.

I ordered the Texas Taco with chile verde, and it was absolutely delicious. Their chile verde is made with beef instead of the traditional pork, and the beef was incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My friends ordered the Texas Tacos with chicken and couldn’t stop talking about how tender and flavorful the chicken was as well.
We also ordered a bucket of chips and a quart of salsa. When they say “bucket,” they mean it! The chips actually came in a full-sized bucket, which gave us all a good laugh. The salsa was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the chips.
The ordering process was simple—you order at the counter, and they call your name when your food is ready. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
The food tasted fresh and homemade, with generous portions that left everyone satisfied. Best of all, nothing was greasy or overly heavy, just fresh, flavorful food made right.
We all had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

I havent eaten here since I was a teenager! It definitely brought back some good memories. They have very affordable prices, as well as yummy food, which goes to show why they have been in Chico for so long. I love that they have their own house sauce and their nacho cheese is delicious!

The food is cheap and huge portions! It is a relaxed environment. Its is order up front and seat yourself style. They call you up to get the food on a tray. The food was good. If you are looking for quick, cheap, and easy, this is your place. If you are looking for flavor, presentation, and environment, dont come here. It will fill the whole crew!
