Incredible tasting food, decent portions and quality. Fair price for what you get. Will go back. I had the salmon plate. Loved the sides and their version of the Mac salad.
Had the bbq pork, spam musubi, and bibimgooksoo. The meat portions for pork a cheap meat and the price does not make sense. The flavor for the pork was good though. The spam musubi was average. No teriyaki sauce or anything on the spam. Meh. The bibimgooksoo was good and bad. Its edible and tastes ok but needed more spice (more gochujang) and more bitterness. I think its missing either kimchi juice or vinager. Sad. The bulgogi that came with it lacked flavor too. Either it was not marinated enough or the marinade sucks. Meat quality was below average too. The sides that came in the container like thr spinach, squash and mushrooms were good atleast. Neither of the owners were present at the restaurant. Maybe thats why quality dropped off. I had high expectations from educated chefs but was dissappointed. (I am korean and i do cook korean food.)
Food was ok. What was terrible was the customer service, The young lady at the front desk. Zero smiles, very unwelcoming. Took the order, flipped the screen with the tip options. I always tip at least 20%, so out of habit I decided to mark 20%. Dumb decision. Now that I think of it, the management needs to change this approach of asking for tip at the beginning. What am I tipping for? Tip is to show your satisfaction about the service at the end. Anyways, my mistake for rewarding the sour attitude of the cashier with a 20% of what was a already a pretty high bill. She did not even say Thank You and this was just the beginning.
We get called, go to the counter, pick up our trays. Take them outside and eat. Food was OK, that’s why I gave it a 3 star. Instead of leaving the trays on the table and leaving like in any restaurant where you actually tip for service, we had decency to pick them up and attempted to place them where we picked them up, on the counter. The same young lady, without saying a word is pointing her finger towards us. We were confused, then she adds “put them behind”, pointing at the top of the trash can. We were stunned at the disreapectful attitude, but we put the trays there and walked away. For good. Never returning to this place. We heard the owners/,chefs are nice people and we are all about supporting family owned business, but it’s their responsibility to hire professional, welcoming people, not rude, disrespectful ones, who not only that they do anything for the tip you give them, but treat you like you are working for them.
Wonderful place to eat delicious Korean kalbi short ribs. The kalbi dish is great with the spicy kimchi, pickles and kalbi short rib meat that is tender and nicely portioned. It can be crowded so you have to think ahead and order in advance.
Flavorful, authentic, clean, friendly, fast. I came because I love Korean food, but am delighted to see Hawaiian and American options on the menu. The chefs are top notch!!! The atmosphere is casual, reminds me of a Panda Express seating area, but the food is FIVE STARS for sure. Takeout is an option if you want a more romantic atmosphere. The vibe is modern, hip hop music and cool Asian fans on the wall, living plants and wooden furniture, a bright and minimalistic decor
