Whenever my daughter and I are in Walnut Creek, we stop by Kasra Market. There is a lot to choose from. We get the Labne which is yogurt, we get the Lahmajoon, which is Armenian Pizza, made by the Ohannian’s. We buy Basterma, which is dried cured meat and can be an hors d’oeuvre or it can be wrapped in the Lavash, which is Armenian bread. We also buy Soujook, which is Armenian sausage and can be eaten as an hors d’oeuvre or it can be sliced and wrapped in the Lavash Armenian bread, as well. There is a variety of cheese. We buy the Armenian String Cheese, or the Bulgarian Cheese. There are a variety of spices, a variety of cookies, candies, Halva, canned foods such as dolma, etc. You can even find raw and frozen vegetables. You can also purchase tea cups. The place is so organized. We know the owner, who is so nice and pleasant. The Market is in a small Plaza where there is free parking. This Market has delicacies and they can be a bit expensive, but they are worth purchasing, if one can’t afford to buy them all the time, one can buy them once in a while. I didn’t take any photos, but I recommend for you to visit this Market if you are in the area. It is very close to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek.

One of my favorite stores to get ingredients for Persian food. The owner is a super sweet guy. Highly recommend this place for everyone.

What’s not to love about Kasra market? Great selection of items. The best yogurt based sauces and dip selection, two variations of halloumi cheese, the amazing flatbreads beyond just pitas. The spices of course and the sweet treats that have Goldilocks level of sweetness. Do yourself a favor and frequent this place and add some of their stuff to your meal rotation!

I went there to grab a few of my fathers favorites for fathers day and I was highly disappointed in the saffron ice cream I bought. It had hair in it! I don’t know who packages the product but it was disgusting…..
