Bre was wonderful hosting our tasting today! The beauty & simplicity of the tasting room was so inviting & relaxing. We loved every minute of our time there & highly recommend adding them to your itinerary for your next trip to the wine country area. Thank you, Bre & Alex, for sharing your slice of Heaven with us! The wine & your hospitality were truly impeccable!
Kanzler was one of those rare wine experiences that somehow felt both elevated and completely personal.
We had a fun crew touring some of the top vineyards in Sonoma and Napa, and we were looking for something different from the usual tasting-room circuit — ideally a private winemaker dinner that felt special without being stiff. We found exactly that at Kanzler.
Dinner was set among the vines, with the table literally just feet from the vineyard. The setting was beautiful, classy, and I strongly recommend arriving before sunset so you can take in the property before night falls. Their newly built space for private dinners and small events is perfect — intimate, comfortable, and thoughtfully done without feeling overproduced.
Kanzler is a family-owned, small-production vineyard, and that really comes through in the experience. The hosts and vineyard owners made us feel like old friends almost immediately. Warm, welcoming, genuine people — the kind of family you end up rooting for after one evening.
The food was excellent, but thankfully not the kind of “tiny foam on a rock” pretentious. It had real flavor, paired beautifully with the wines, and fit the night perfectly. We had a slightly wild crew with us, which probably made the evening even more memorable, but Kanzler handled us with grace, humor, and plenty of good wine.
And I’m not saying there is anything illegal in their Chardonnay… but everyone in our group who sent a case home has already gone through it and is now trying to get more. It is dangerously easy to drink, and every level of wine drinker we’ve shared it with has loved it.
Overall, if you are looking to break up a week of tastings with a truly special evening, I cannot recommend Kanzler enough. Reach out and try to schedule a private winemaker dinner. And if you’re lucky enough to get a spot, bring kind, fun people — you’ll have an experience you’ll be talking about long after the last bottle is gone.
I was not paid to write this, but totally think it is worth a bottle of their chardonnay! 😉
This is such a wonderful spot for a several night stay in Sonoma. First you are right in the vineyard in a stunning and beautiful home. The entire house is well appointed as is the outside pool.
I am picky, but I can not recommend this property enough. We have stayed there twice with a group of eight and are looking forward to our next trip out from NJ.
Also – bonus – the tasting room is fantastic, near by and the Kanzler Pinot is to die for.
This was truly a spectacular tasting in the most gorgeous space. This vineyard came highly recommended and it still surpassed all of my expectations. Breauna is truly one of a kind and makes you feel like part of the Kanzler family. My new favorite wine, by far!
Came here since the Kazlers hosted us for an amazing, intimate evening with friends.
Good:
– Bre and Alex are amazing hosts – they made us feel welcomed from the start and hosted us within The Residence as well
– The place is beautiful – the interior feels clean and modern and well kept
– The wine was amazing – I especially liked the 115, and I’m not usually a big wine drinker
– The food pairings were even better – I liked the dinner we had at the vineyard
– We were able to go into the vineyard and pick some grapes and blackberries and eat them and learn about what makes them sweet! We even had a mini contest for who could find the closest grapes to the ideal sweetness – Alex and Bre weren’t just entertaining us but educating us!
weather
– The stay was luxurious – we had the master bedroom and slept very well – the place had an indoor hot tub inside the room too and we had such a nice time soaking!
Bad:
– The area gets hot and cold at night, so bring layers for the changing weather!
Overall, both the stay and the experience were super memorable. I don’t think I’ve been to a vineyard where I’ve felt more at home and connected to the people who make the wine itself. I will be back!
