We were recommended this winery by a local and it was a goodie! After several misses (our fault) with our reservation, we finally made it to the winery. It’s a bit of a drive off the beaten track, but once you get there, it’s lovely. They have a couple of different tastings to choose from, sparkling and a red/white one, both delicious. Customer service is spot on and our shipping was quick with daily notifications. Thank you to Joseph and the staff for excellent customer service!
First stop on our Russian River Valley day, so clear of mind! The sparkling is fantastic. The views are phenomenal. And the tasting setup has a great Cali casual vibe. The wine and the view do the work and the space is unpretentious and welcoming. Our first and after a few days in Sonoma County, still our favorite. And now we’re members
There are world-class sparkling wine producers, and then there’s Iron Horse — which happens to be one mile from our front gate. We’ve been Corral Club members for years (4 bottles every other month), and we bring every visiting guest here without exception.
While Iron Horse also makes beautiful still Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, we come for the bubbles. Their sparkling wine portfolio is genuinely extraordinary — diverse, consistent, and able to hold its own against anything from Champagne or anywhere else.
What really elevates every visit is the team. All of the hosts are exceptionally knowledgeable, warm, and enthusiastic — but Ana is in a category of her own. She brings a depth of passion and expertise that makes each tasting feel like a personal deep dive into what makes Iron Horse special. If you get Ana as your host, you’re in for a treat.
We are truly lucky to live this close to such a world-class institution. An absolute must-visit in Sonoma County.
This is one of our favorite wineries to taste at. The location is gorgeous and the sparkling wines are incredible. We used to be wine club members and I miss our regular shipments. It may feel out of the way but it really isn’t. It’s definitely worth it to make a tasting reservation to enjoy some sparkling wine on the property. Another bonus is that they waive the testing fee if you purchase 3 bottles.
