This has got to be the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in the Bay Area and beyond, not just by a little bit by a mile and a half. David is the kind of person who connects with his diners. He genuinely wants you to have a great time and a great experience. Everything from service to food to wine was out of this world. Their Truffle ravioli should be illegal it’s that addictive, the chicken parm was delectable, and Tiramisu was unbelievable. The wine we had was unfortunately the last bottle and was divine. Nick hosted us and was such a gracious host with a class apart hospitality. This has now become my favorite Italian restaurant. If you haven’t been here, you are missing out.
We worked with David for a small private dinner party, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. David was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and thoughtful throughout the planning process. He even created personalized printed menus for our group, which added such a special touch to the evening.
The food was absolutely outstanding, and the portions were very generous. For appetizers, we ordered the Calamari, Arancini, Polpette, and Ahi Carpaccio, and every single dish was delicious. If you’re hosting a larger party, I highly recommend getting both the Insalata Davide and Insalata Cesare.
For the mains, we chose the Gnocchi di Manzo, Ravioli di Pollo, Pollo alla Parmigiana, Pappardelle con Salsicca, and Due Ravioli Combinata. The Pollo alla Parmigiana was especially a huge hit with everyone at the table.
The desserts were just as impressive. Dolce Diverso is their specialty for a reason, but honestly, the tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had. And you can never go wrong with the crème brûlée.
Thank you, Il Davide, for such an amazing experience. The staff was warm, attentive, and professional, and the food was incredible across the board. On top of all that, the value for the quality and portions was exceptional. We’ll absolutely be back!
Restaurant is a nice atmosphere. Perfect for a celebration dinner or date night location. Upscale, clean, fancy, but not over priced. We had four people in our party, no wait as we had reservations. We were seated by the owner who was very friendly, amd our server was also great. Our drinks stayed full and all of our order came our correct. We ordered 11 different dishes in total, 3 apps, 4 entrees, and 4 desserts. We all tried every item or shared, and everything was delicious. It was a bit pricey, but considering the quality of the food and the perfect portioning, it was reasonable for what we got. Most plates are between $25-55, some small plates (apps) are less. 10/10 first experience.
This is a very nice restaurant run by people who clearly care about providing a quality experience. We were seated in the back room which we enjoyed because it seemed less crowded and quieter than the main room. The host managed a very busy entryway with great care and warmth.
The caprese salad had an excellent dressing on it that made it enjoyable even though the salad had clearly been prepared in advance and set in a refrigerator, making the tomatoes cold and tasteless.
The brussel sprouts appetizer was okay but basically just roasted brussel sprouts. It could have used some other ingredients such as red pepper or nuts, to provide a bit more flavor variety.
The seafood pasta was excellent and the chef did a good job of making sure the variety of seafood was each cooked to its appropriate degree; often, the more delicate bits of such a dish are overcooked.
The ahi tuna entree was excellent in flavor, although a small portion size, unlike all other dishes here. It was also a bit disconcerting to have such Japanese flavors show up in the middle of an Italian meal. Not bad, necessarily, just kind of a surprise to the palate.
I’m not a huge tiramisu fan but this was the best I have ever had and may cause me to order it more in the future.
Nice ambiance and great food!
We got Carpaccio Di Tonno (thin sliced ahi) as a starter which was great! Lasgna was tasty, and their Ciopinno made the visit absolutely worth it.
