Lovely people, place, and space. Well worth the visit whether you’re local or just passing through.

This historical building that was once the Stamps family’s home has been converted into a multi-use space – office, visitors center, education center with plenty of books, games, brochures, and displays, gift shop, and event space (think dinner parties, movie nights, sunset yoga, and naturalist classes).
The staff and volunteers here are incredibly friendly, kind, helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the mission of Friends of the Dunes – dune conservation through education, outreach, and restoration projects that engage the public.
Don’t hesitate to stop by and say hi!
From the nature center, you can see the ocean. There are a number of trails around the nature center, and you can get to the beach.
Wonderfully knowledgable staff eager to tell you about their efforts to revitalize the dunes. I loved this place and I wish there were more projects like this all around the country. We didn’t have enough time to go visit the dunes but I hope I can come back someday to explore the area!
I learned a lot about the coastal dunes! This was a great little hike that eventually takes you down to the ocean. You get to go through Sandy dunes then through a small forest. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped point out a lot of different birds. This place is great for kids and adults. I had a great time.
Excellent dune trails, variety of terrain. Picnic tables, interpretive center, restrooms, ADA parking, and some equestrian trails. Good parking. Must visit and walk along tall sand dunes, walk along beautiful beach, full of shells. Fun for families.
