The Ivanhoe Hotel is a must see, must experience it, sort of establishment. Words can’t do it justice. Someone, or someones, have gathered some of the most elegant yet functional antique furniture that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Absolutely everything is exquisite. My partner and I had only 1 night reserved. We’re staying the whole weekend thru Monday; it’s that much fun. And this town, Ferndale, is a gem. The local theatre draws international talent. Everywhere you go, it’s local, local, local. Fresh pastries, delicious coffee.
Oh! The food at the Ivanhoe is also amazing. The chefs there know Kosher. Ray and I had a wonderful kosher style custom meal last night. And I’m headed back now for a homemade kosher style breakfast.

We had a 7 pm reservation on a Friday night. We arrived a few minutes early, were seated quickly, and handed drink menus. Then we sat and waited for 25 minutes. No one ever came. We gave up and left.

Absolutely hands down one of the greatest meals and service in this county ever. From the hostess warm welcome, the servers attention to every detail possible, and some of the most flavorful food ever, this is a winner in every way possible. The kitchen killed it and we can’t wait to come back again. Ivanhoe staff, be proud.

I had the BEST Chicken piccata I think I’ve ever had. The chicken alone was so flavorful and seasoned to perfection. Piccata was on point delicious. My husband had the rib eye with fresh made Marsala sauce and was excellent. Highly recommends and the fresh hand made meat raviolis, a must appetizer. Husband said the clam chowder was one of the best he has had and the linguica soup I had was again perfectly seasoned. THE BREAD, wow this bread was light and fluffy. Service was incredibly friendly and so nice to talk with. Dinner service was prompt, didn’t have to wait and it didn’t overlap, even with a party n the back. We got to tour the rooms and we wish we had time to stay, definitely will make a reservation next time as the rooms were adorable. The renovations are just beautiful

This place is a stunning triumph! The newly reopened The Ivanhoe is gorgeous, and my party of 8 was treated like absolute royalty by the amazing staff.
They nailed the restoration. The historic photos of Ferndale and the tiny details—like the incredibly epic bathroom wallpaper—make the whole place feel special.
Quick History: This beautiful spot first opened way back in 1870 (as Robert’s Hotel), and it’s been a gathering place for over 150 years! But it doesnt feel wonky like most older places…level floors, normal sized rooms and doorways.
The food was simply amazing, and the service was excellent. Honestly, we all can’t wait to go back.
A huge bonus: The Ivanhoe is a super welcoming and LGBTQA+ friendly space. A truly perfect experience! The new owners are awesome and I dont think reviews over a few weeks old are about the newly owned and operated place. Also in a small town, there maybe some politics. Our food was awesome and the service so good, I forgot I was in a rural town.
