Tiny building, big flavors. Helpful and patient staff! There are so many options to choose from.. it’s hard to pick! They helpful staff was patient with us and delivered a huge, delicious sandwich! It was lunch and dinner!! Check out Hole in the wall if you want a local, humboldt favorite! You won’t leave hungry!

Came with a big crew, 3 kids, 4 adults. Great staff, professional and helpful. Quotes from the kids: “20 million 20 thousand million stars!” “This is the best sandwich I’ve ever had” “I like my sandwich more than my chips!” “I’m too full to play video games” – we loved it.

The sandwiches were fantastic – if you happen to be cheating on your vegan diet that day like we were. That was only because you didn’t offer ANY vegan options for protein or cheese and we were there with the whole family. It would be nice if you had a marinated, baked tofu slab, or, less preferably, deli-style slices. It is odd to me that a couple of places around town carry those veggie patties with cheese mixed into them. It would be so easy to carry ones without so you have at least one vegan option.

The bread was great. Your kind and helpful staff directed us to the homemade, crunchy baguette goodness. I appreciated all the options for sauces and veggies. Ingredients seemed fresh and the end product sandwich was delicious.

My only other qualm is that you can’t leave a tip for the staff with your card. I read in other reviews that the owners thinks there are other motivating factors and natural characteristics that should equate to a positive experience for both employee and guest. But as someone who works in the service industry, there is no greater motivating factor than MONEY. Let people give money if they want to. Those are not cheap sandwiches, so I understand that it is a lot to ask of some people, but they don’t have to sign the tip on the receipt if they don’t want to. Please give your employees the chance to make as much money as possible. They will be happier and want to work for you longer!

    Much love! We’ll be back.

Let me start off by saying this review doesn’t take away from the quality of the sandwiches this establishment provides. Because they are very good. Today we had an unfortunate and disappointing visit. We came in this morning to get sandwiches as we have almost every time we come to the coast, we were helped by a young woman who has probably had better days. She didn’t seem very excited to be there. Regardless, I can overlook the poor enthusiasm when the product is usually top notch. However this time the negative experience just was too much. I can also overlook the fact no gloves are worn during the sandwich making process (the most common complaint is sanitation) however when the person making the sandwiches sneezes into their arm 2x, then proceeds to touch their face and nose area multiple times as well as wipe their hands on their shirt (which had crumbs, and other who knows what + the sneeze’s from earlier) whilst the sandwich is being made and then touching the sandwich continuously again… that’s just too much. I kindly paid for the sandwiches and threw them away outside. Just a poor experience for a place I genuinely enjoyed coming too. Please just get some gloves. Would solve a lot of these negative reviews and restore my faith in this place.

Has been a good sando stop for us.

ABSOLUTELY worth the price! Its 2 meals per sando with fresh ingredients for less than $20.

Solving the fresh bread challenge for a sando shop would elevate thier craft.

    Service is fast and responsive.
