The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms could use a little TLC but were fine. Water ran hot and the pressure was good. Almost all of the staff were incredible except for one person at the front desk…I asked for drink vouchers, an extra one a day, because I did not like the taste of the water fountains. He refused, which I’ve never had at a hotel before.
The food and beverage options onsite are great. The restaurants onsite are OK.
One very important note. If you stay on the side with the bay view, be wary that if the Shell is having a concert, you will not be able to sleep until it’s over. Two nights in a row the Shell had concerts which shook my entire room. I had ear plugs and a noise maker and I still could not sleep it was so loud and disruptive. If you are a light sleeper, please check the Shell or Petco Park schedule before booking this hotel. It’s so noisy that you won’t be able to sleep until the concerts are over. It was pretty awful.
Travis D was amazing! He was super friendly, attentive, and made our whole experience so much better. He was always checking in on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and was genuinely so fun to talk to. You can tell he really cares about making sure his guests have a great time. Definitely one of the best servers we’ve had in a while! Thank you, Travis!!
Stayed here for five days in SEPT 2026 for a conference. Highlights – views from room, the amazing pool area with two hot tubs which are really hot! Proximity to Petco Park, Gaslamp District, and walkway by ships and the Midway Museum.
Special shout out to Karin B. Amat the concierge desk … she was incredible, fun, interesting, and a fount of great information. We had a long chat every day about what to see or where to get a great meal. She goes above and beyond to make hotel patrons feel welcomed and happy.
We did not meet Lezly in person but she was also super helpful with her texts and answering questions. Will definitely return to SD!
This hotel was exceptional! We had a Beautiful view from our room which was very nice. We had one issue and they sent someone up to fix it in less than 10 minutes. If you’re going to a Padres game, this is the hotel to stay at for sure! A short walk across a bridge and you’re right at the park. It’s also right on the water with an easy walk down to the harbor and Seaport Village. Everyone in the hotel was super nice to us…valet, greeters, servers, anyone we came in contact with during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Bayfront.
Stayed here for a few nights with a couple of friends and I can definitely say it was a great experience!! I like how close it was to Gaslamp. It was easily accessible when we wanted to get food or go out for drinks, so that was a huge bonus. One of our friends is visiting from another country and Kanishka from Hilton grand vacations was actually a great help to the experience, he recommended plenty of sport bars in the area which we all really enjoyed. The view from our hotel was also great as well, especially during sunset! Overall it was a fantastic stay, I would gladly return.
