needed a place to eat near morro bay and came upon this gem. 10/10 of everything. the service was amazing, quick to serve us had genuine conversation. the food was AMAZINGGGG. the presentation of the food made me feel like i’m at fine dining place. the scenery and aesthetic of this place is cozy romantic and homey(in love with it). it’s tucked away in this small town but it’s def worth a visit and would def come back!
The service was slow but friendly. Caesar salad is shredded lettuce with minimal dressing no lemon or parm or ground pepper offered but a few homemade croutons. We ordered the first pizza on the menu because that’s usually the best bet when trying a new place. The lighting surged and dimmed continuously so it appeared they use electric appliances which may explain the long wait for food. Our pizza arrived undercooked and not cut all the way through the chewy soggy floppy crust. Doughy. The server began to fill vinegar bottles at the bar with their back turned to the customers, so that’s that. Also notable – a lady with a dog comes in the side door and rolls silverware into napkins while holding the leash. No need to wash hands here!? We both struggled to eat a slice of the pizza – it was pretty terrible and considered l leaving it behind, but asked for a box so we could finish cooking it at home. 50 bucks, 10 dollar tip. I’m sorry but this place sucks from food to service and they did the least possible to earn my business in the future. Bummer.
I moved to Los Osos about 9 months ago and have eaten and gotten takeout at least 10 times here. While the food is absolutely fantastic and delicious, the service is absolutely awful. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
It doesn’t matter if it’s dine-in or takeout. The staff are either rude, in-attentive, or sometimes just straight up disappear.
I’ve had servers consistently forget items, bring wrong items, go on break mid-meal with no service, or just straight up disappear after dropping off the bill. Leaving me waiting or going to the bar to pay.
When ordering take-out. If you order through DoorDash you can get your food in ~30-45 mins. If you order through their website it’s an hour plus, and if you show up 10 mins early the staff makes snide comments about it not being ready.
Like way to incentivize ordering through DoorDash and losing revenue that could have gone straight to the business.
I think I’m done spending my money here. While the food is great, it’s not good enough to put up with the awful staff.
We stop here every time we are in the area. Some of the best Italian food anywhere! Very reasonably priced. Service is fantastic. They serve excellent Italian dishes as well as top notch pizzas. Pictured is our bill which includes 4 entrees, 4 sides (3 soups, 1 salad), 1 dessert and 1 corkage fee. The dish was their special, a short rib cannelloni what was out of this world.
I’ve been to this spot three times over the past few months, and here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
Let’s start with the good:
Ragu Pasta
This was really good. Everything from the seasoning to the Italian sausage was on point, and the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente. Definitely something I could order again and again.
Mango Cheesecake
Exactly what you’d expect—sweet, creamy, and full of mango flavor. A solid dessert option.
Chocolate Cake (top shelf, middle)
Not sure of the exact name, but it was rich and tasty. Another win on the dessert menu.
Side Salad
Taste fresh, and it was good!
Now, the not-so-great:
Benny’s Pizza
The toppings were decent, but there was just too much oil. While the outer crust had a good crunch, the rest of it was soggy. Not something I’d order again—overall, just okay.
Short Rib Ragu
This was a big miss. It lacked flavor, the pasta was undercooked, and I honestly don’t understand why it’s even called a “ragu.” It felt disconnected from the dish I expected. Wouldn’t recommend.
Olive Oil Cake
Not a fan. It was really dry—almost like dried-out cornmeal—with whipped cream and some other topping that didn’t help much. Couldn’t taste any olive oil either.
Other Notes:
Service
Always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a bright spot of the experience.
Takeout
Just a heads up: if you’re ordering to-go, expect a wait. Every time I’ve ordered, it’s taken around 40–45 minutes.
All in all: A nice little spot to check out if you’re in town. The vibe is good, the service is great, and while the food has its hits and misses, there’s still more on the menu I’d like to try.
