This was one of the most delicious tacos I’ve had – my favorite was the shrimp tacos (both fried and grilled). The rockfish taco and rockfish and chips were also good, the fish has a more mild flavor with a delicate flakey texture. Shoestring fries were great. We did takeout and brought it to the nearby beach, but I imagine the fried items would taste even better fresh in the restaurant. I also enjoyed the clam chowder which felt more homemade – thinner texture with lots of potato pieces, and fresh herbs. Came back a second time before we left the area with the exact same order because we enjoyed it that much.

Very good for what it is. I liked the shack dog, fish sandwich, and shoestring fries. Michelada not bad either

    Was it worth the hype?

Yes every bit! Fresh seafood in every dish.

Got the grilled fish tacos and the fish and chips.

Both nailed it. Love the light batter in the fresh fired fish and chips. The fries were perfect shoe string size.

The grilled fish tacos hit all the high notes. Great level of spice with fresh salsa and cabbage

    Love it

Overall, a fun small location with plenty of patio seating (which is dog friendly) and friendly locals who were not shy about saying hello. My fiancee got the shrimp and rockfish tacos, which she really enjoyed. We both liked the Shoestring fries. I was deeply disappointed by the crab burrito, which sounds great by its description but in reality is this: unseasoned white rice, unseasoned refried beans, lettuce and tomatos are 90% of the burrito, which tastes like it was made in a dorm dining commons. There is also some sauce and about 2 tbsp of crab meat. Unfortunately by halfway through the burrito it was just wet lettuce and beans, so I did not finish, which is very disappointing for a $25 burrito. Maybe we were here on an off day (Friday afternoon) but I wouldn’t eat here again with many other seafood options nearby.

I’ve only ever gotten takeout, but they’ve got good outdoor seating.
I can vouch for the prawn burritos, tuna melt, and crab melt (which is currently on the specials board). All of them were so delicious.

And like everyone else has said: the shoestring fries are amazing. And their spicy seaweed sauce is a must try (it’s actually spicy!).

A bonus is that they offer grilled AND fried options for the fish & shrimp.

My only complaints: they don’t answer the phone, so you can’t really call in an order & the wait time for the food is 20+ minutes every time we’ve ordered. Also, please stop using the “shack roll” for the tuna/crab melt! It’s a soft bread that only ends up softer & soggy!
