Great location! Friendly staff. Decent room. Strange smell in the lobby and halls. Lots of entertainment and food options within walking distance. Price was reasonable. We’ll stay here again.
I found the rooms to be clean and the service was nice. I left some items and they kindly offered to ship them to me if I gave them a shipping label.
My only complaint would be the noise outside my window. I could hear the bus bell dinging quite late into the night but playing white noise on my phone covered it.
Its an easy walk to the convention center and decent food options within a few blocks.
We stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton in downtown San Jose during our trip, and overall, we had a really great experience. We were traveling from San Francisco and took Caltrain before switching to the light rail to get to our hotel. The best surprise was that the light rail stop was literally right in front of the hotel! I had no idea when we booked it, so that was an amazing convenience.
The downside to being that close to public transportation is that you can definitely hear it. In the mornings, we could hear the buses and trains arriving, along with the beeping sounds they make. It wasn’t a huge deal for us, but if you’re a light sleeper, it’s something to keep in mind.
The room was the perfect size for my daughter and me. We were both able to spread out and actually unpack all of our things, which felt especially nice after staying in a micro-hotel for the few days before. The bathroom was also a good size and everything felt very clean, which is one of the most important things to me when staying in a hotel. I want to feel like I’m in a clean, safe space, and this hotel definitely delivered on that.
One of my favorite features was the blackout curtains. When you pulled them all the way down, they blocked out all the daylight. You could honestly forget what time of day it was! They were absolutely perfect for those vacation afternoon naps.
The location was probably the biggest selling point for us. Not only were we right next to public transportation, but so many things were within walking distance. We didn’t realize when we booked that we were staying in an area with a lot of bars, but thankfully it didn’t feel like an overly rowdy or drunken area. We walked about 20 minutes to the SAP Center for a concert and then walked back to the hotel at night, and we felt completely safe the entire time.
We were also able to walk to two different restaurants that we really enjoyed, and there was even a little mini-golf place nearby that we wanted to try. Unfortunately, the hours never worked with our schedule, but it was nice having so many options close by. After coming back from the concert around 11 p.m., we were even able to stop at a cookie shop and an ice cream shop for a late-night treat before heading back to the hotel. The area was still busy with people at the bars, but everyone we encountered was friendly.
Another convenience was being able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out while we went to brunch before heading to the airport. That made our last morning so much easier.
One thing is that the hotel is connected to a restaurant, so you need your room key to access the lobby restrooms. After we had checked out and were waiting for our ride to the airport, we needed to use the restroom and had to go back to the front desk and ask for a key.
Overall, I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the blackout curtains were fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the location was incredibly convenient. Being able to take public transportation directly to the hotel and then walk to restaurants, the concert venue, and other things around downtown made our trip so much easier. For a trip where we were trying to get around without constantly using Uber or a car, this was a great location.
Staff was nice, and the hotel was clean and bed was comfortable… but I could only lay in it as my room was next to the road and every 10 minutes the light rail would come by with its horn, bells, and announcements and keep waking me all night.
Can’t blame the light rail but there needs to be better soundproofing for your rooms near the street.
I stayed at this hotel for a business trip and had a very important day planned. Unfortunately, my experience was not restful or comfortable.
The biggest issue was the noise. The hotel was extremely loud throughout my stay, with constant disturbances from other guests, nearby train sounds and horns throughout the night, as well as ongoing construction. Because of this, I was not able to sleep properly.
The room itself was small but clean. However, the mattress was very soft and uncomfortable, which made rest even more difficult.
Another downside was the lack of food options. There was no breakfast available, not even for purchase, which was inconvenient for a business stay.
In addition, the parking garage is not attached to the hotel, which made things inconvenient, especially when carrying luggage.
Overall, while the hotel was clean, the noise level, lack of amenities, and parking inconvenience made it a difficult stay, particularly for a business trip where rest is important.
Also one important advice, do not use the coffee inside the room.
