My husband and I had Farmstead saved for years after his first visit many years ago, and it was every bit as wonderful as we remembered.
From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The food was outstanding, the wine list was extensive, and the service was warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing.
One of our favorite parts of the evening was being able to stroll through the gardens after dinner. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and add so much to the overall experience.
Farmstead is truly a gem and a place that feels special from start to finish. Fantastic food, fantastic wine, and a setting that is hard to beat. If you’re in the area, don’t skip it.

Farmstead is one of the resturants that was recommended to us so we decided to make reservations. The people in the resturant was so nice and it looks like they like their job and enjoy coming to work. One young lady saw us in town earlier that day and came over to our table to talk to us. It was so nice. So I decided to have the ribs and my wife ordered to pork chops. The ribs were good and they were falling off the bone. I ate some of my wife pork chop but she didn’t like it that much. Our waitress really wanted my wife to try something else but my wife didn’t order anything else. I also ordered to the chocolate chip cookies and they gave me free ice cream with it and it was Delicious. it was an awesome experience.

It’s a spacious place with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the space is nicely put together. The staff are friendly, and the food is simple and clean. Even the drinks look good and both taste good.
There’s plenty of parking, which makes everything easy. It’s also very close to downtown St. Helena—just about a 5-minute walk along the railroad tracks.

As locals, Farmstead is one of our favorite go to spots, especially for dinner. It’s a place we can always count on for consistently great food and solid cocktails. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, and the drinks are perfectly balanced a great complement to any meal.
Service is always friendly and attentive, but it definitely gets busy especially on weekends and holidays. I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait. It’s a popular spot for a reason.
Whether you’re sitting at the bar or at a table, the atmosphere is warm and lively. Even when it’s packed, the experience still feels enjoyable and well managed.
And whatever you do, don’t skip dessert the beignets are a must and one of our absolute favorites.
