This place has overpriced, average Mexican food and bad service.
I ordered Combo #4 Dos enchiladas de pollo for $18.50 (two chicken enchiladas topped with cheese). Combos (Entrees) are served with rice, beans, guacamole and salad. My combo arrived without guacamole and I brought it to my server’s attention. He told me that it didn’t come guacamole, only sour cream. I showed him the menu where it says, ” Entrees are served with rice, beans, guacamole and salad.” He looked at the menu and went back to the kitchen and returned with a side of guacamole but continued to insist that my combo only comes with sour cream. Not only was he wrong (see the attached photo of menu) but it greatly diminished my dining experience. In addition, my water glass sat empty for the entire meal. The server came by with a pitcher of water and filled one of the seven glasses at our table. He left the pitcher on the adjacent table and never returned. I also asked for additional salsa and it didn’t arrive until after my meal was almost done. A different server brought the salsa and angrily placed it on the table, spilling one of salsa cups. I still tipped above 15% despite the terrible service.
The whole fried fish with garlic is delicious. We have had several times. Today I tried something new, the spicy shrimp burrito. I am sorry to say it wasn’t very good. It was more sweet than spicy….however our service was great! And the beer was cold!
Just.. wonderful. Everything was great. Food was spectacular, and the waiters? kind and quick. They even got Karoke. The only thing that is mildly bad is the prices, but for good food and large portions? It’s way worth it. Honestly, if you’re looking for a good Mexican place, it’s this.
Stopped by for take out after a wine tasting. Coming from Tucson, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good Mexican restaurant in Napa. The salsa had a kick and followed with good flavor. We had chicken and chili relleno burritos. The first thing you will notice is the weight. I’m guessing at least a pound of food. We were very pleased with the taste. Very service oriented staff. The restaurant has plenty of seating. Would definitely come back.
El Rancho Grande is an awesome Mexican restaurant with great food options and large portions. The food was good and the service was very helpful. There was a large indoor seating and a large outdoor but fully covered seating as well. Outside both of these options were outdoor seating with plenty of space as well. The kids high chair was a cool for the little ones.
