El Molcajete was recommended to us by friends in Ukiah. It did not disappoint. I love Mole and theirs is great! I have not had any better in my 75 years on Earth. My wife loved her cheese enchilada and chili relleno. Even the frijoles were good, not just an afterthought.

The service was great and so was the atmosphere. The waitress was very friendly and I heard a great deal of Mexican spoken from some of the other tables. That’s always a good sign.

El Molcajete is a great spot for authentic Mexican food in Ukiah. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and comfortable tables that blend traditional Mexican elements with a modern, cozy feel. One thing that really stands out is how busy it is with Latino guests — always a good sign that the food is truly authentic and well-made.

I was welcomed with fresh chips and salsa, along with avocado salsa, red salsa, and beans — everything was flavorful and delicious. I also tried the octopus tostada and ceviche, which were fresh, well-seasoned, and very enjoyable.

The highlight of the meal was their famous molcajete. It came sizzling and full of flavor, with a generous mix of meats, chicken, cactus, onions, and beans, all served in a traditional Mexican molcajete. Absolutely delicious and perfect for sharing. They also offer options with just chicken or shrimp, which is a nice touch.

Service was mostly good. My server was friendly, though a bit distracted at times. Cristian stepped in to check on me and made sure everything was okay, which I appreciated.

Overall, El Molcajete offers great food, authentic flavors, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re craving real Mexican cuisine in Ukiah.
