Took my mom for her Birthday there since we wanted to stay in town. Food was great! I had the lamb leg and a taco of chapulines. Waitress girl was very professional and provided excellent service! (Not sure her name) then they played las mañanitas and brought out a small little cake for my mom. That, we weren’t expecting but very appreciated!
As a small business owner myself I know what providing good customer service is and we had a good experience there!

The service and the food deserve more than five stars; the moment you walk in, Ms. Jakie makes you feel like a valued customer with the way she welcomes you. The food—in my case, the mole—tastes like authentic Mexican mole. I recommend it 100%, and the atmosphere is great. Give it a try; you won’t be disappointed.prices very reasonable.

Looking for delicious food off CA-99? El Epazote is a tiny restaurant in Madera cooking the most delicious authentic Oaxacan food. It was hard to choose! My first tlayudita topped with marinated pork. Super thin handmade crispy corn tostada with a thin layer of amazing black beans and fresh toppings. We also got one of their specialties, a quesadilla with Oaxacan cheese and pumpkin flowers inside a delicious soft handmade corn tortilla. So good!! My husband loved his carne asada burrito too. The tortillas, the beans, the salsas—everything was so fresh, homemade and tasty. Service was super friendly and efficient. We’ll be back next time we’re doing that drive back to the Bay from L.A.!

It was my second time going to this place and the food was great. The service is also good, but my friend that invited me and introduced me to this place didn’t get the order completely right. She asked them to not add any mushrooms to the dish that she requested but when she got her food, the mushrooms were still there. I told her to asked them to redo it or at least to let them know because if it was an allergic thing (it wasn’t but still) they needed to get it right. We still had a great time, and I still recommend this place. Great food.

Absolutely delicious! Everything is made fresh and tasted sooo yummy! I got the grilled fish tacos and the chips and salsa. Outstanding! So glad we stopped by on our way through town!
