Lucky choice. Needed lunch on the road through redwood forest and followed our rule of “no chains on vacation.” The people running this cafe are working hard to offer a nice place, friendly service, and great food, and they are doing a great job at it. It was a busy lunch so we sat at the counter. It all felt like a movie location, and I was expecting the local sheriff to come in, greet everyone by name, and ask for a cup of coffee to go. Food was fresh, tasty and a large portion. Nothing fancy, just done well.

Super quaint diner. Our service was fast and friendly. Ordered a patty melt and club sandwich, both were delicious. Seems like anything off the menu would be a hit.

I have been to Garberville several times over the years and 2 more pretty recently. I ALWAYS go to Eel River Cafe as much as I can when I visit there. Great people, great food, great atmosphere. You always will run into someone there too to have great conversations with… I even met the mayor there this last trip..

We always make it a point to stop here when traveling through Humboldt. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful every single time we visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is always delicious and fresh.
Whether you stop in for breakfast or lunch, you really can’t go wrong. The portions are great, everything is full of flavor, and the service consistently makes the experience even better. It’s one of those places you look forward to coming back to. Highly recommend if you’re passing through the area.

Yum! Food was great – ordered the EL griddle sandwich and potato wedges. Vibe inside was great, love all the cows. Service was great. Coming back next time we’re in town.
