We look forward to eating at your restaurant when we come up every year for the Redwood Auto Expo. This year the food was horrible as my filet was over cooked and very tough, not how a filet should be, and it really didn’t have any flavor. I also had the lobster tail and it was cold and very rubbery and the garlic butter was cold and lumpy. Everyone else’s steaks were the same way very tough and fatty and flavorless. For roughly 80 dollars per person we were very disappointed. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us. We really hope this was a one off bad night and the quality of the food is better next year as this is our favorite restaurant when we’re in town.

Dinner on a Thursday, got there 4:30pm. Bar was packed, loud and chaotic. Found table, ordered at Bar – liquor selection minimal in vodka (using cheaper Burnett for flavored vodka), table next to us left due to not having any they liked. The way they charge their drinks was interesting… well whiskey charge + $2.76 extra for using a call liquor of Jack Daniel’s. Drinks rang up at $8.24 each for Jack Daniel’s & Coke, and my cosmopolitan . Dinner includes, bread, antiposto plate (2 each of salami slice, green olive, cheese square, pepperoni, carrot stick), soup & salad, and main course. 16 oz ribeye was not 16 oz & very thin & salty, the Skalibut (pan seared halibut slice & 5 small nickel sized scallops) over risotto was good but the rice also had a little too much salt to it. Presentation was good, server was fabulous, cosmo a little too much triple sec sweet. Tito’s vodka flavor normally comes thru in the drink with cranberry tartness. It was nice to go out to dinner, but it might be a while before we head back down there. Dinner for 2 with 2 cocktails ran $134.62

Such a great place. You know you’re somewhere different when you notice the deer antler chandelier. Really a locals place. You have to know it’s here. Worth the drive from anywhere in Humboldt. If you’ve never eaten there, you’re not prepared for the dining experience. First comes the antipasto plate, a fresh loaf of bead, then the raviolis to share, then the soup ( pork pazole today ), then the salad ( yes! Both soup and salad ), and finally the main dish. Go in hungry. We had the filet steak and the calamari steak for main dishes. Both great. Not too many places serve calamari, breaded and pan fried in butter. Just delicious. I would recommend Double D Steak to everyone. You will sure leave satisfied.
