If you’re trying to decide on a winery in Napa, let this be your sign to book Davis Estates. This was easily a 10/10 experience and one of the best tastings I’ve ever done.
Our host, Duncan, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and did an amazing job sharing the history of the vineyard, explaining the winemaking process, and making each tasting feel personal without ever feeling rushed.
One of the highlights was having the opportunity to meet Michael, the owner, and his wife during our tasting. They were so warm, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative that we were there. It added such a personal touch to the experience.
I also loved that each wine was accompanied by a thoughtfully selected food pairing. It really helped us understand how the flavors changed with different bites and made the tasting even more memorable.
My favorites of the day were the 2022 Rhys Merlot and the 2022 Howell Mountain Cabernet, which both were absolutely outstanding.
I’ve visited wineries all over, including several in Italy, and I can honestly say Davis Estates is in my top three. Between the wines, the hospitality, the education, and the beautiful property, this was an experience I’ll be talking about for a long time.

Having been in the wine industry for 17 years, we have been to many tastings. Recently we have been looking for more unique experiences with food and wine pairing. Davis Winery delivers on both counts. Tyler was the consummate host, he was knowledgeable, yet down-to-earth. He made our family feel immediately at ease.
We were treated to their Cellarium Experience by the owners of Levendi winery. It is normally reserved for Founder’s Members and their guests only. From the moment we stepped into the vault-like room in the middle of the cave, we were blown away. We feasted our senses on art and music, dramatic chandelier, mood lighting, and the sheer beauty of the space. We have dined at some Michelin restaurants and this food certainly is comparable. Not only is the presentation flawless, there was an explosion of flavors in our mouths. Each course was better than the next, starting from the Burrata and ending with the Wagyu beef with truffle port sauce. The timing of the courses were like an orchestra.
We can say this experience easily tops all others, including the food and wine experience at Mondavi and Kendall Jackson. It felt exclusive but never stuffy. Davis wines were phenomenal and the food was culinary perfection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind experience in Napa Valley.
Visiting Davis Estates for my wife’s birthday was the grand finale of our Napa journey. To be honest, I am not a wine expert and don’t drink much, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, this experience turned out to be the most surprising and delightful part of our entire trip.
During this vacation, we had the pleasure of visiting two Michelin-starred restaurants, and they were truly fantastic. However, the pairing of the 2021 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the Seared Duck dish at Davis Estates was a unique and unforgettable highlight for us. The way the wine elevated the flavors of the duck was truly remarkable—a level of culinary excellence that left us speechless.
A special, heartfelt thank you to Shannon. Her warm and professional hosting ensured our final day in Napa ended in absolute perfection. We are deeply grateful for the care she showed us. We wish Shannon and the entire Davis Estates family nothing but the very best and a future filled with wonderful moments. It was a privilege to celebrate here.
From the moment the tour begins to the final pour, every detail feels thoughtfully curated and intentional. This family-owned winery goes beyond simply serving wine—they’ve created an experience rooted in beauty, warmth, and genuine hospitality. The aesthetic is effortlessly inviting, with a setting that feels both elevated and comfortable, making you want to slow down and stay awhile.
What truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. You’re not just a guest—you’re welcomed in like part of the story. The team’s passion is evident in every interaction, creating a sense of connection that enhances the entire experience.
The tasting itself is elevated with a thoughtfully designed food pairing, which adds another layer to the experience. A standout moment was when the chef personally came out to talk us through each dish—it felt intimate, intentional, and deeply personal. Their attention to detail extended to dietary needs as well, with exceptional accommodations for celiac that never felt like an afterthought.
And of course, the wine delivers. Each pour is well-crafted and enjoyable, but it’s the combination of great wine, meaningful hospitality, and excellent company that makes this tour so memorable. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your return.
