$27 for single portion coconut curry. Curry was sweet but no coconut flavor. Chicken was cooked perfectly but cartilage and fat was a little excessive to be considered well prepared. Naan bread was good but hard to go wrong there. No forks for take out, only spoons.
Atmosphere was rustic and plenty of open space—-set up for an authentic Indian experience. Good family atmosphere. Pool table seems like a good idea. Altogether seems like a good “family and friends” only diner unless you want to “fork out” for a mediocre meal.

We stopped at Curry King after a long drive and were so glad we did! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and best of all, halal. The mango lassi was super fresh and the perfect complement to the meal.

If you’re looking for a tasty halal restaurant with excellent service, I definitely recommend Curry King. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I really, really want to love this place and see this restaurant succeed here in Crescent City. Indian food is my fav and I’ve wished for an Indian restaurant for so long!!

However I am often let down by the lack of consistency. I never know what I’m going to get. Sometimes the curry is delicious with full portion sizes and fresh veggies; once I got the same curry full of random canned vegetables instead. Sometimes the food is spiced perfectly, other times it’s been so salty I couldn’t even eat it. Sometimes I receive rice with the curry order and sometimes not, so I never know if I should order it and pay an extra $5 for it or not. Today I ordered my favorite $22 tikka plate, which is usually delicious and hearty, but instead I receive half of what I usually do, with dry paneer slices, a handful of half cooked veggies, and the rest of the plate is just chopped lettuce to make the plate look less empty. But I still pay full price for whatever I end up with!

I’d just really like to have consistently good food, with consistent taste, plate sizes, and fresh ingredients. And, never knowing what I’m going to get means I order a lot less often than I otherwise would.

I’ve waited for a long time to make this review, hoping that with time these problems would work themselves out, but they haven’t. I really hope Curry King can work these issues out and continue to serve CC for years to come!

It was so good! Me and my momma got Lamb Tikka Masala, Coconut Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan, and Rice, the chicken was so tender, so was the lamb! The flavors blended beautifully, we left full and with enough leftovers to feed two more people. Would 100% Come again! Worth the price, the open floor plan was beautiful, and service was kind, she continuously checked up on us, and it was just delightful overall! It’s a must-stop for Crescent City.

My fiance and I love Indian food and sample it all over. To think that our new favorite happens to be newly-opened in my hometown was an unexpected treat:) We asked our server for her recommendations and despite them being different from our inclinations, we followed her lead…and were not disappointed! At time of writing, the chicken pakora appetizer is not on the menu and it was stellar! Imagine the best chicken tenders you’ve ever had and mix them with a bit of yellow curry and two distinctly-different dipping sauces. We would have come back just for this dish. Butter chicken is ordered on sitcoms but, it was a first for us…and we get it, now: that stuff is excellent. The spice level of 3 (of 5) was a little too hot for me (she could have handled far more), but the mango lassi yogurt drink they serve here cut the spice in half and let me enjoy the dish (pro tip if you are spice sensitive). The garlic naan is exemplary (soft on top, crispy on the bottom, and the garlic pieces were toasted beautifully) and paired perfectly with the malai kofta the server recommended (a yellow curry vegetarian dish). I hope everyone in town gives this place a try; it deserves your business!
