Absolutely HORRIBLE service. We walked in and the hostess eventually acknowledged us. She did everything else but seat us. There were plenty of clean, empty tables. She told us she was going to check out one customer first, but then did many other tasks and seated others that came in after us before finally seating us. Then we had to wait forever for someone to take our order. Other guests had come in and she seated them and immediately. She took other people’s orders before us. I don’t know why she treated us like this. We were polite and pleasant the whole time. When we finally got our food, it was okay. Was hoping it’d be worth the wait. But , no. Not bad, but just OK. Way overpriced. We chose this place because they were the only ones open during these hours. Should have just gotten a sandwich at the gas station.

The fried fish and shrimps are really good here, and it’s probably one of the best we have had in California. We asked for changing the fries to clam chowder for our fish and chips and they happily did that for us. The fries can improve a bit, but this place still worth a five star

We went right after 5:00 opening. We were seated quickly and we’re able to select a window table. We enjoyed tje clam chowder. My wife enjoyed the fish and chips while my son and I enjoyed the seafood pasta dish. Well used the bread to sop up the sauce. Service was good. The staff had a large party (2 tables, 1 of kids and other of adults.)

We did not make a reservation.

This is the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. It’s not those “cosco” French fries that are three times fried and tasteless: it’s skin-on fried, probably done on site, and full of flavor. Served with malt vinegar as God intended.

The fish is perfectly breaded, super fresh, and full of flavor. Great tartar sauce too.

    Also, very affordable prices.

The ambience is just fine but who cares. You’re in California. Enjoy yourself — and the fish.

Best food in Gualala. Addicting French fries. Salmon grilled perfectly. I spent a couple weeks in the area and tried a number of restaurants. Cove Azul turned out to be my go to restaurant for lunch. Cooper gives it five wags.
