I honestly feel ripped off.
Paid $39.40 (with tax) for a “large” side of rice and a “large” side of beans—$17.50 EACH. Both came in standard 32 oz takeout containers, nothing close to catering size or anything that would justify that kind of price.
This is a small Mexican restaurant in a rural area, not some upscale spot, so the pricing feels completely unjustifiable. Rice and beans are some of the most basic, low-cost items, and charging this much for them is excessive.
Food was fine, but there’s no way it matches the price. Definitely ask about prices before ordering—I wish I had.

A damn fine meal! It only took a year to find this place. It’s obvious that the food is prepared with love and pride. I had the 2X2 breakfast with a side of hash browns. The e eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked, the hot cakes were tasty and the taters were also perfectly cooked. My wife had the Relleno plate with a tasty egg slapped on top. It was the best chili relleno we have had in lake County! We will be back!
