Small intimate restaurant. Wait service was exceptional. The bartender helped me find a new cocktail that I liked while I was visiting. The burratta caprese was phenomenal!!
Fantastic buzzy restaurant. Started with the tomatoes and burrata. Tomatoes were very fresh and an interesting variety. Also had the calamari. The real star was the slow roasted pork, it was really fantastic. Given I had the tomatoes as a starter, maybe a little too many tomatoes but otherwise great. A memorable meal and would love to go back.
This is my new favorite resturants in St Helena. While in town we tried Cook. It’s a tiny family owned Italian food restaurant operating in what looks like an old saloon or meat market, super cool and nostalgic. We were told they’ve been in business over 20 years. You can sit at the bar, or a table. Our server Michael was excellent! We had wine, bread with olive oil and a Ceaser salad. The entree was the pasta Bolongnese, which was phenomenal! I wish I had discovered this place sooner. I highly recommend Cook as a must if you are in the Napa region. Reservations are highly encouraged as this place is small and always busy.
Update: The day after I wrote the above review we returned for lunch with our friends who wanted to try this place. This time we sat at the bar and it was fun. The food, and service were amazing! Also, we got to meet the owner who was greeting everyone and actually helping deliver food to tables. You don’t see that very often.
Impressed, and smitten. Since We travelled throughout 4 regions in 4 months in Italy this year, I delayed visiting Italian eateries as long as possible. Now we arrived in St Helena at Cook, where the Spaghetti Vongole was done just right. Caesar salad a refreshing start and the Muneday and fantastic finish. Grazie e ce’vediamo.
